It’s articles, its video, its a lot of different things so to mass produce that is hard to push for 24/7. Hence why executives are now leaning on AI to generate stories, videos, etc because they again….see these items as just widgets to be massed produced to gain eyeballs

To make the money back. the problem again is if you flood the market with garbage, people will turn away faster (Buzzfeed) and your model on content production begins to decay because you demand more but pay the same amount of money, but its not widgets you are creating

Whether it be exhaustion or the topics consistently being created no longer resonate with the audience. So rather than pull back and go back to the drawing board executives see it as a numbers game: produce even more content and people will eventually come or catch enough views

The problem with digital media is that it has an added dimension of creativity required in order to draw an audience on a consistent basis. This audience draw can happen in waves (PIXAR) or happens in one giant wave (Marvel). Eventually the shifting tastes of the people changes

Much of the Industrial Revolution was the idea that as you make a particular good, you get better at making it (whether speed, quality, or both) and in turn it eventually gets cheaper allowing the entity to earn more because they are producing more goods, that are being bought.
