Today sees a major step forward in evidence-based practice in children’s social care 👏@educationgovuk’s move to mandate family–led approaches by local authorities can help divert children from care and ensure they stay with their families where it’s safe to do so. This decision is based on our evidence that #FamilyGroupConferences (FGCs) have a significant impact in reducing the number of children who go into care.

We worked with @Coram on the first ever FGC trial in the UK involving 2,500 children in 1,500 families. It showed that children whose families were offered an FGC before court proceedings were less likely than those not referred to be in care one year later.
