@alfiedotwtf @andreasklinger@Suhail This is so, so true. I don’t feel all the data I’ve poured into health platforms over the years has really made its way back to me in *actionable* insights nearly enough.
@larry123498 @makersmuse Eh, I don’t mind it so long as it’s serving a good purpose (making tech accessible). Community-maintained open source stuff is a colossal time sink to maintain and completely inaccessible to most people. I do agree on its profound value, but not that proprietary shouldn’t exist.
@makersmuse Cricut Joy: hardware experience great; software experience awful. Cutter is solid and elegantly designed - app is buggy, and loaded with obnoxious microtransactions which make it a sh***y experience for both everyday and power users. Not giving up, but frustrated.
@larry123498 @makersmuse Yeah but this is for my wife - she has an iPad-centric workflow and no time for or interest in troubleshooting. If it were for me I would probably go a decent, enclosed laser cutter.
@makersmuse A real shame - there is def a place for a well-curated paid storefront (something 3D printing is yet to really nail), and Cricut’s demo would surely use it - but this is SO obnoxious, often overpriced, and discourages creativity imo. Reeks of venture capital…
@jasonschreier because your profile pic looks very approximately similar to the album cover of “Southeastern” I regularly misread your tweets as being from @JasonIsbell. Like, this horse mechanic guitar singer fella sure knows his games!
@viticci At what point does ‘basically making a whole app in Shortcuts’ cross the dark threshold to sit alongside ‘making an Electron app’. @viticci your powers grow dangerous indeed.
@usedarkroom@ReeflexCamera I bought a Fjorden based on the launch of @usedarkroom integration across both apps - it looked great as a product, but I also trusted it because I consider Darkroom integration to be a seal of quality.
@usedarkroom@Hazza52@jaynumber4@sdw@halidecamera Worth noting, Darkroom is absolutely killing it and I recommend it without qualification to anybody and everybody as *the* step up editor for anyone getting more into their photography. I also love using it, I just also love LR (the one Adobe product I can say I actually do).
