There exists a martyrdom of those who offer their lives in a single moment, and the more hidden martyrdom of those who give their lives day after day. This is exactly what all Christians are called to do: to give our lives with love, every day.
In this era of artificial intelligence, it is becoming urgent to distinguish human art from what machines produce. There is an ontological difference, even before an aesthetic one, between art and what a machine can generate through statistical calculation based on millions of images created by others. Algorithms lack the spark of humanity. For this reason, the Church wishes to renew an alliance with artists and cultural institutions to safeguard our humanity.
This is a disaster for the human race and I’ve really lost patience with the useless morons who can’t see that. An AI video chat that passes for human has no necessary legitimate applications. It will be used to scam old people out of their life savings. Lonely, mentally vulnerable people are going to form romantic attachments to people who aren’t real. Isolation will increase. Mental illness will skyrocket even more than it already has. Kids in grade school will have AI boyfriends and girlfriends. All of this will happen. And worse things we can’t even conceive at this point. People are already forming unhealthy emotional attachments to text-based LLMs. Once there’s an audio and visual component, it’s over. Millions of brains will be broken irreparably.
The benefits of this technology, whatever they are exactly, are so vastly outweighed by the societal catastrophe it will cause, and is already causing, that you can’t even measure the two categories on the same scale. But at least this is the best thing that ever happened to third world scammers. So if you’re in that community, congratulations.
💰 Michael Olivier was paid £20,000 in 2023 to go referee a game in the UAE, funded by Man City owner
The same guy that refused to send Kovacic off twice Vs Arsenal
Investigate that fraud ASAP
I've been a football fan for over 60 years & just want to explain something to younger City fans. The dominant club of every era is always disliked by most other fans, it goes with the territory. Leeds, Arsenal & Chelsea faced it for a few seasons, United & Liverpool for many. Others are jealous of that success & for most of the last 15 years, that has fallen on City. Yet this is different, the rest of us are not angry because you had such success with great teams & a great manager, but because you serially broke the rules to achieve it, you may as well get used to the contempt we all feel for that.
The owners should be forced to sell and leave. No way should they be allowed to continue to run the football club after this.
Points deductions/relegation/fines, etc, is not enough.
The owners have to be held accountable.
When you’re asking foreign royals who don’t know you exist to increase your cost of living, it’s probably worth contemplating whether at some stage your football fandom might have caused your brain to fall out.
