Nobody denies that Yasiku existed. The truth is that he was never a samurai. Ubisoft's DEI Department promoted him to a rank he never had. Now, they are walking that back after being caught lying and fabricating Japanese history despite previously claiming to have hired experts and consultants to ensure the game was historically accurate. They're liars and frauds.
@OXBlackxJokerXO@Ryangofett2490@Fifty2Eighty_@GamesRadar "While Yasuke is depicted as a samurai in Assassin's Creed Shadows, we acknowledge that this is a matter of debate and discussion." -- Ubisoft. How's that for a source? Doesn't sound like even the publisher thinks his status is confirmed. Feel stupid, yet?
@OXBlackxJokerXO@Ryangofett2490@Fifty2Eighty_@GamesRadar Originally, Ubisoft claimed Yasuke was a real samurai and has now backtracked to concede there's debate and controversy about that. And I play lots of games for their historical accuracy. I own over 100 games published by Matrix/Sitherine precisely for their historical accuracy.
I didn't say anything about using historical consultants on previous games. I said they didn't trumpet the historical accuracy of previous games in the series, but did for this particular game. Trying to promote a sword bearer into a samurai to score DEI points was what started this mess. Their gaslighting made things worse.
@JaegerDeus@GamesRadar Why did Ubisoft hire historical consultants and claim this particular game was focused on accuracy? Other games in the series made no such claims. It's almost as if they knew there were no Black samurai and felt the need to justify giving us the DEI version of Japanese history.
@Ryangofett2490@GamesRadar Because Ubisoft claims Yasuke was a real samurai when he most certainly was not. He carried swords for a samurai. Big difference.
@Ryangofett2490@helmutstyler@GamesRadar You really are dumb. Manga and TV shows featuring a black samurai doesn't mean there really were black samurai. Do you believe Spider-Man is real? There were a bunch of comics and movies, so it must be true! People bitten by radioactive spiders can get super powers! News at 11!
