The Management of Kwara State Polytechnic has expressed profound gratitude to the Kwara State Government for approving the re-opening of the institution for full academic and administrative operations.
In an appreciation message, the Ag. Rector, Dr. (Mrs.) Felicia Olabisi Awolola commended the State Government for its consistent interventions and support towards the Polytechnic. She stated that the Management is now satisfied that the prevailing conditions are conducive for the peaceful and orderly conduct of academic and related activities.
The Ag. Rector also extended appreciation to the Ministry of Tertiary Education and other relevant bodies for their pivotal role in facilitating the smooth re-opening of the Polytechnic. She expressed optimism for a seamless and successful continuation of the academic calendar.
In her message to the student body, the Ag. Rector emphasized the importance of good character and adherence to the Polytechnic's regulations. "We urge all students to conduct themselves with integrity and uphold the values of the institution," she stated. "Any act of indiscipline or violation of the Polytechnic's regulations will be met with appropriate sanctions."
Kwara State Polytechnic is now fully operational, following a directive to reopen the school on Monday, 2nd March, 2026. The Management welcomes students back on campus and looks forward to fostering a vibrant and productive academic environment.

School Portal Reopened for Registrations After SUG Intervention
In a responsive move, the Management of Kwara State Polytechnic has approved the reopening of the school portal to allow students who missed the registration deadline to complete their payments and registration processes.
This decision follows a formal appeal made by the Students’ Union Government (SUG) during a recent meeting with the Committee of Principal Officers (CPO) at the Conference Room, Central Administration Building.
Addressing the situation, the Ag. Rector, Dr. (Mrs.) Felicia Olabisi Awolola acknowledged that while the delay in registration was primarily the fault of the students, the Management, acting in the spirit of parenthood, has chosen to grant a grace period for the affected students.
However, she strongly advised all students to adhere to stipulated timelines in the future to avoid a repeat of such incidents.
In another development, the Management also addressed allegations of illegal payments at the departments. The Ag. Rector urged students with credible evidence to come forward to assist the administration in conducting a thorough investigation.
She reiterated the institution’s zero-tolerance policy toward corruption, emphasizing that the school “frowns against any form of corruption and will not condone it, either from staff or students.”
Dr. Awolola therefore called on both staff and students to uphold high standards of integrity and good character, reinforcing the institution’s commitment to ethical conduct and administrative accountability.
The portal reopening is expected to provide relief to many students who were at risk of being locked out of academic activities for the semester.
