The IRONY of DUNKIRK

I’m the privileged and proud owner of an original Dunkirk Little Ship; a boat I restored from the keel up.

Last May I crossed the English Channel in WAYFARER with 63 other Dunkirk Little Ships, to celebrate and commemorate the 85th anniversary of the Dunkirk evacuation, properly known as Operation DYNAMO. When 840 ‘little ships’ helped the Royal Navy rescue an incredible 337,000 British and allied troops from the beaches of Dunkirk as the German Blitzkrieg advanced.

Half way across, as we headed over to celebrate and commemorate the sacrifices our forefathers made to secure of freedoms and liberty…..
