@jesusdelma12365@birt_shannon@nicolaslcanto@GabrielPyron IA ports can be great but people need to take the time to polish their ports, eventually search techniques to build skills, architect the layers and sprites, optimize palettes,... but most of them prefer to rush for the 'glory" or monetization...
I worry about doing any port at this stage due to AI making them trivial to do - doesn't mean they will be good but the damage gets done regardless - It puts me off ports in general.
If someone does a port of a game we are doing - we will just stop and go onto something different - why waste our time etc. AI vibers seem to have no respect for other peoples time / effort in this regard.
With original games the risk of been copied / jumped on is lower - as you can't copy what doesn't exist yet.
EBH will be made , with extremely high performance targets - it will push the envelope in every respect , its not a demo - its a game.
@MisterDigifox@RetroPoloTV C'est un recodage. Pour les décors il faut se débrouiller avec des sprites et les contraintes qui les accompagnent, là ou le M92 utilise des Tilemaps
** EBH - Sega Genesis **
Sometimes you just have to scratch and itch - Proof of concept for a vertical shooter bullet hell on the Sega Genesis.
I've spent about a day on this , modifying lufthoheits multiplexor and expanding it to a 320 sprite capable multiplexor ( 4x Genesis base ) .
Still struggling a little with performance (made good gains already but need more ) , hopefully will find gains to get to the solid 60 FPS , ~ 50 FPS here at Max load. No cheating though , full Fix16 precision and every frame collision check / out of bounds checks, player hitbox is tiny to give the player a chance ;-)
Runs on a stock standard Sega Genesis, this is not one of those Raspberry Pis tucked in the back or anything haha.
Multiplexors arn't free , so spending about 25% of the CPU to run the multiplexor and hence thats taking some of my cpu budget. Approx 40% of the cpu to move sprites and do collision checks.
It will be a fun little project amongst the other projects !!
