Karen Bass (incumbent) is certain to advance, and Spencer Pratt is the strong favorite for the second runoff spot (as of June 4, 2026).
I lived in Emgland in the fifties.
My family moved to the US. The south side of Chicago. Poor planning.
At that time Chicago was incredibly consistent. Everyone was bloodthirsty & racist.
Whites, Bkacks, everyone. Hate is corrupting to the soul.
My parents fresh from the BBC monoculture knew if British people were there instead of Americans vet knew every solution, they were sad they couldnt help Americans to see that BBC reality solved all.
Many Brits now know. Some are so addicted to political philosopical narcissism, that they cant let it go any.more than the opiate addict can let go of the pipe.
Im always interested in how we view "robots" in an irrational way.
In the Jetsons the robot vacuumed the floor. Robot vacs have no "robot" attached. Robot self driving cars have no Jetsons robot in the driver seat. Manufacturing robots don't have the Jetsons guy joining a robo union and welding.
Yet constantly in the media the "future" robots are humanoid.
Seems onvious that the function fits the machine. Unecessary parts are liabilities.
Sony et al know humans are prone to this bias, so if they make a cute humanoid robot that back flips for 1m$ they get 8m$ in pr advertising.
It is, according to many legal minds, already illegal. According to intepretation of the first amendment by the supreme court //Not allowed (compelled indoctrination): Using official school time, assignments, grading, or authority to require students to affirm, recite, or act out one-sided political/ideological positions (e.g., mandating acceptance of contested theories as fact, compelled "social justice" statements, or penalties for refusing to participate in activism-framed activities). This treats the classroom as government-compelled orthodoxy.
As a San Franciscan, ditto.
There is a group who believe San Francisco is too good and wonderful. Thus making property too expensive. They believe it should be devalued by making it less beautiful and appealing, they are right, in that, that would work. As long as its appealing property values will be really high. So making it a crap hole will work. Odd that a single San Franciscan would see that as a choice. But that's the power of the information system. Celebrate what is and what has been. I love this city.
@Notwokenow The success of the anti ICE program is telling. Vague. If it was renamed would it be better?
They have a violent open borders agenda and it's mainstream. Devious maybe, but damn impressive.
@patrickssons@CliffordAsness@pmarca That sentence is written by a future AI overlord. ",please don't be alarmed, these are the last words you will ever read"
@Susan_Shelley Plus as far as Presidential elections go its a moot point. If Hitler ran against Trump in California, supprted Hamas and opposed ICE he'd win by four points.
Not a landslide, that's true.
@apple_SFY@JohnCleese They both are concerned with platitudes to the academic class more than policies that effect reality. However in both cases that is not due to politicuans but to the voters.
@bonchieredstate I agree. From what i see. Looks like the Iranians plan to start over. Rebuild and hunt Jews. While waiting for the west to slowly disintegrate.
Not a plan without evidence.
On the plus side he has bought a decade. There is no political will for the actual solution.
