I was on a call with a friend yesterday and he shared that the Head of Islamic Finance at the world bank is a Nigerian Christian from Osun State. So I went to confirm (see screenshot)
Some people will argue that he got there because he has strong knowledge in corporate finance.
However, I read on a Facebook comment from on of his ex-students that as at 36 years ago when he was a young lecture at OAU, he was already conducting research on the prospect of Islamic Finance.
Another fun fact:
The Head of Treasuries/Treasurer of Alt Bank, Lotus Bank, Jaiz Bank and Taj Bank, they are all non-muslims.
My point here is that Islamic Finance has been growing to be a thing in Nigeria and many Muslims are left behind.
This is completely false. I was part of Bowen University’s second set as a Muslim graduate, and nothing like this ever happened. I’m not sure where this story is coming from, but it is misleading.
We should be careful not to spread misinformation. At that time, the number of Muslim students on campus was very small and easily identifiable, so this claim doesn’t align with the reality then. Let’s avoid pushing narratives that aren’t based on facts.

🚨 MAN CONVICTED FOR EXTREME BABY SEX ABUSE IMAGES SPARED JAIL
⚠️ JAMIE SMITH, 21
🌍 CHRISTCHURCH
A Christchurch man that actively searched for and downloaded extreme images of babies being sexually abused has been spared prison
Jamie Smith (21) was arrested last year after he had downloaded over 200 indecent images of children as young as newborns
One of the vile images showed a newborn baby being sexually abused while the umbilical cord was still attached.
Prosecutor Ben Thompson said that during an online chat with another paedophile, Smith was asked: “How young do you like?”
The defendant, from Christchurch, replied: “Literally any age to be honest. The younger the better.”
A search of Smith’s mobile phone and two tablets after he was arrested revealed a stash of images – including 45 of the most serious category A, 22 of which were videos.
Smith also had 83 category B and 129 category C images, and videos of a woman having sex with a dog.
Investigations of Smith’s devices revealed he had asked for and been offered indecent images of children on the app Telegram and another social media chat channel.
Mr Thompson said Dorset Police had been alerted to Smith’s activities by the National Crime Agency who had traced his internet address to his mother’s home.
When police raided the house on 16th April last year at 7am, Smith was found upstairs asleep in bed.
He answered “no comment” when interviewed by police but later pleaded guilty to six offences at magistrates court earlier this year.
Smith admitted three charges of possessing indecent images of children along with one charge of possession of a prohibited image and one of possession of extreme pornography.
He also pleaded guilty to distributing a category A indecent image of a child in the form of a video which was sent on 23rd March last year at 1.15am.
Mr Thompson said investigations had proved that Smith had started downloading indecent images of children in March 2021 when he was 16.
He had continued up until 22nd March last year when he was 20.
His parents, who were in court for the sentencing, were supporting him, and his aunt and uncle had written to the judge asking for clemency.
Addressing the barrister, Judge Jonathan Fuller KC said he was concerned that search terms Smith used on the internet, and other “indications”, showed the defendant was “interested" in children of any age.
The judge said the evidence showed Smith also had a “fairly long standing interest” in indecent images of children.
But he said he felt a two-year community order, which would involve Smith embarking on a rehabilitation programme, was better than prison.
Judge Fuller said Smith would have gone to prison for 12-18 months, serving around half of that.
He said he felt a “more constructive course and in the public interest” was for Smith to go into a rehabilitation programme but he warned him that if he did not comply with any probation orders he would go to jail.
He also told Smith that he regarded this “as an exceptional case”
Smith was given a two-year community rehabilitation order and 10 days of rehabilitation activity.
He is also subject to a sexual harm prevention order for five years and must pay £150 in court costs.

Me - I am fine. I deleted your number from my phone because you have consistently shown that you hate Muslims and you are always saying the nastiest things about us online so I thought I’d make it easier for you.
