On the evening of July 25, 2026 (shortly before 10 p.m.), a white vehicle (described as a minivan/SUV) was driven into pedestrians in Berlin’s Tiergarten park near Ahornsteig/Lennéstraße, close to the Brandenburg Gate area during Christopher Street Day (CSD/Pride) celebrations.

One person (a woman) was killed and 16 others injured, several critically/life-threatening. The driver fled on foot after the vehicle crashed into a tree.

Berlin police have identified a male suspect known to them and associated with the local “Islamist scene”; a large-scale manhunt is underway with no arrest reported yet (possibility of more than one person involved under investigation).
