President, National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS)
I am first and foremost a Muslim. I am an adherent of Islam, an Abrahamic believer, and a Hanif before anything else. Only then am I Yorùbá.
To those who have made it their mission to question the loyalty of Yorùbá Muslims, you may continue your attacks. But know this: for a true Muslim, Islam will always come first. It precedes ethnicity, culture, and nationality because it is the primordial covenant with our Creator.
A Yorùbá Muslim is not conflicted in his identity. He was a Muslim in the divine decree long before he was conceived, and he entered the world as Yorùbá the day he was born to Yorùbá parents. These two identities are not rivals—they are perfectly compatible. One defines his eternal soul and purpose; the other shapes his language, culture, and earthly heritage. Both have their rightful place.
If any Yorùbá Muslim chooses, for whatever reason, to place ethnicity above Islam, then that person has failed to grasp the most fundamental principle of our faith: La ilaha illallah (there is no god but Allah), and nothing has precedence over Him. Such a person's reckoning is with Allah alone.
My identity is clear and unapologetic: Islam first. Always. Everything else follows in its proper order.
Anyone who says “Islam comes before my Yoruba identity” is functionally not Yoruba and a potential saboteur in the current fight against Jihadists.
He might as well be Fulani. I don’t care who his father is.
This thing y'all do by scapegoating religious leaders, celebrities/popular figures reeks of cowardice. If you’re angry enough, enter the streets ! Stop looking for people to spoon feed you.
My trip to Taraba State, especially the Mambilla Plateau, was truly an eye-opener. The beautiful landscape and even more beautiful people made the experience memorable. One thing I realized is that many of the things we see on social media are not always a true reflection of what is happening on the ground.
I spent late hours in Gembu and, honestly, not for one second did I feel threatened. We visited Kakara Waterfalls and were all alone on the road back by 9pm. The same was true for Jalingo, which used to be disturbed by terrorists. I was told that people used to sneak home and move around low-key because bandits could easily be informed by some locals. That is now history.
In Gembu, we visited one of the ongoing projects of President @officialABAT, the Gembu–Cameroon Expressway, a road that had been promised since 1961 but saw no action until the current administration. Anyone familiar with Gembu will understand just how important this project is.
The reality is that this region has witnessed no infrastructure development for decades until Tinubu’s administration. The last major project many people can recall was the Jalingo–Mambilla road constructed during the Ibrahim Babangida era.
It was really interesting to see how the people of Mambilla, comprising different religions, were coexisting and living peacefully. A person there could speak at least four languages.
Sometimes, you have to leave your timeline and see things for yourself, because firsthand experience often tells a completely different story.
Attached to this post are some moments I captured of the progress on the Gembu–Cameroon highway.

Let me put this into perspective for you. My grandfather was a man of timber and caliber, father to the late Chief Gani Fawehinmi. Activism runs through my bloodline like oxygen, not a costume I wear for relevance or coins.
Now look at you. No lineage. No legacy. No traceable contribution to this nation beyond the noise you generate on a borrowed timeline. Your family tree is a stump.
You are not qualified to engage me. You are not even a footnote. You are a misplaced, digitally homeless individual with the intellectual depth of a puddle, stumbling across platforms you clearly lack the pedigree to navigate.
The moronic display you are putting on right now is not surprising. It is, in fact, the only language available to someone with nothing to offer and no history to stand on.
As you were.
I really like the confusion caused by the amended electoral acts concerning the form of primary elections. Y'all like advocating for nonsense, talmabout they are bribing delegates bla bla, now you’re being force fed with consensus all the way
Starting to look positively insane that every European leader apart from Sanchez supported this war. The costs for Europe will be very, very heavy. A month from now Merz, Macron, von der Leyen, Meloni won’t have time for anything else but explaining themselves
