Looking forward to welcoming @BundesKanzler Scholz to the UK today.
I welcome his principled determination to end dependence on Russian energy. How we respond to Russia’s invasion will define the international order for years to come. We cannot let Putin’s crimes go unpunished.
@GaryLineker It’s devastating on both sides. Either way innocents will be caught in this crossfire. Disgusts me. Poor children poor families. No excuse for any war, they should settle it like adults not petulant children. No place for dictators in this World.
@Pie_FacexD @DubrovPolly @doctor_oxford Also, the more this virus spreads, because COVID is very unpredictable, the more new strains we risk and the more dangerous again this virus could become. Any superbug can develop within 30 minutes. Covid is dangerous enough, we shouldn’t want the risk of further strains.
@Pie_FacexD @DubrovPolly @doctor_oxford That’s awful, and I’m sorry to read that. I’m referring to shielding and shielding alone (in terms of sacrifice). That’s the only thing that’s in our control. What’s the alternative, we don’t, and the pandemic spreads further and more people die!?
@SamLonghorn1 @DubrovPolly @doctor_oxford over by shielding. Personally I find the shielding a small sacrifice to prevent spread to others. It doesn’t mean I don’t think all of those other scenarios aren’t awful too.
@SamLonghorn1 @DubrovPolly @doctor_oxford I know it’s awful, but each one of the circumstances you listed, are examples “we” can’t do anything about. If I could do something, personally, to prevent each of those, absolutely I would. Trying to prevent the spread of the virus, personally , is the only thing I have control
@SUSPICIOUSsMIND @DubrovPolly @doctor_oxford It’s awful, but either way we lose people. The whole situation is rubbish. But we can’t in one breath say, ok, in that case then we won’t bother shielding either. That’s why I don’t appreciate comments about population control. It works both ways.
@DunneDoreen@doctoremma @DubrovPolly @doctor_oxford Losing loved ones will always be hard for anyone. Whether it happens every day, or not, whether we choose to accept it, or not. Doesn’t make it easier for those dealing with it. Does it?
@DunneDoreen @DubrovPolly @doctor_oxford She was referencing that at the minute people are having to take extra precautions to protect others, and that we do that all the time in every day life. She is right in what she is saying. People are over dramatising the sacrifice based on the alternative.
@DunneDoreen@doctoremma @DubrovPolly @doctor_oxford I’m not saying you are directly, but some of these comments on this post are. Especially the one from another poster about population control. Almost the attitude, get over it, people die everyday!? That’s not nice. Not for people dealing with things right now.
@DunneDoreen @DubrovPolly @doctor_oxford !?! I’m not. I just don’t understand what you are arguing. I don’t understand your need to argue with those who are worried over Covid, based on the fact people die every day? How will that put anyone’s mind at rest? Loss is loss. I’m sorry for yours too!
@DunneDoreen@doctoremma @DubrovPolly @doctor_oxford Not at all. Deaths are up exponentially. People are automatically anxious, or have lost someone. How can you be so heartless and be, potentially, arguing with these same people..!? Nobody is asking you to worry, why do you feel the need to chastise people who are!?
@DunneDoreen @DubrovPolly @doctor_oxford Of course people die everyday, however, people refusing to follow the rules or being heartless at a time of anxiety for vulnerable groups, or whilst in the midst of losing loved ones, is nothing more than selfish and cold.
@DunneDoreen@doctoremma @DubrovPolly @doctor_oxford She was referring to the ignorant comments on the feed, such as population control!! I can’t believe how selfish people are due to having to stay indoors... again, temporarily!
@DubrovPolly @doctor_oxford It’s not about belittling the sacrifice. Compared to those fighting for their lives I hospital or losing loved ones, as a comparative, it is a small price to pay. The alternative is worse.
@DubrovPolly @doctor_oxford Tell that to somebody who lost a loved one today. The right thing is protecting vulnerable groups and you’d feel different if you fell into one. It’s a small sacrifice for us all being at home, and sacrificing social interactions temporarily to prevent unnecessarily death
@hum90 Hi Craig, apologies for not coming back to you sooner, I’ve been so busy of late, I’ve been much quieter on social media as a whole. Yes it was a site where it was made to order personalised. I’ll try and find the details and send you a link 😊 I hope you’re well 👍🏼
