I was named Halo as I was sent by Chester from heaven just after he passed🌈
I'm only 3 months old. I was alone, hungry and so tired, searching for a human to help me.
Chester gave me the address of his mummy Priya's rescue, and said, "go there child, where there is love. She will save you"
And so I did. I sat in her back yard. I watched her come out to feed the birds, and I just sat there, and mewed at her. She got her rescue crate and now...I've gone from homeless to my very own 2 room ensuite castle.
I seemed to have contracted a parasite called Giardia from the dirty outside, but I've had my vetting, and good medicine, and quarantine time, and I'm well again. And just so happy!
There is such love here...💓😽

This Drama Queen that took 3.5 hrs to trap 🙄 all the while screaming bloody murder was part of the 14 kittens /adults rescued in the third week of October 2025. After numerous vet visits for illness, and fully vetted, Ace sibling of Murphy and Birdie is now in his forever home❤️🐈

Rupert Rupee https://t.co/3xMgyKde5N❤️ went in for his wellness check on Jan 20. He has been peeing in food bowls and now pooping in carrier. I discovered on camera that after several years of harmony he is being bullied in his old age by 3 siblings Bailey, Hammy and Bean Bear. He has been an extremely peaceful cat with a love for raising kittens and accepting of any new rescue. He doesn’t fight back. He is just grateful to have been rescued from truly a life of hell he was living hated by residents… taken to kill shelter for euthanasia by previous adopter…He is the only cat I cannot touch😭. So, the peeing/pooping is a result of bullying 💔

Page has had 6 visitors in 8 days. Feeling of complete abandonment, I guess we don’t matter…but will post babies regardless. For those of you who know about Leo Bear’s cancer journey and the few that care update-
Feb 2- full diagnostics to assess cancer.
12 months fighting pancreatic and abdominal cancer. Oncology every 3 weeks since.
Feb 2- heart enlarged need Echocardiogram .
Feb 5 - Dx Kidney Disease
Feb 5- 7 hrs waiting at vet for Echocardiogram -Dr forgot never showed up.
Feb 6- 6 hrs at vet- Echocardiogram- DX with heart disease Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy.
Invoice totals this week for Leo Bear $1823.72
3rd cat 2 months now needs prescription food.

If love alone could save them all, there wouldn’t be anyone left on the streets.

But love doesn’t pay for diagnostics, surgery, labs, or medication.

The crushing weight of vet bills @gandolf_s is what stands between a life lived in hunger, illness and loneliness, and one lived in love… safe, happy and healthy with a family to call their own.

Beyond new rescues, we also care for many sanctuary cats. The ones who were never adopted, but are home with us for life.
Keeping them healthy is part of the promise we made.

Last year was brutal; the hardest we’ve faced financially. Multiple expensive cancer cases, many losses with exorbitant funds spent doing everything we could to save them, large number of intakes at once (14) in October, with every one of them sick needing either repeated vet visits or surgery. All over and above “normal” operations of the 52 street we helped either by rescue or TNR.

Having normal financial expectations in rescue is akin to the phrase, “life is what happens while you’re busy making other plans”.
There’s a lot of wishing and hoping involved😰

This video shows the reality behind the work. We’ve opened our stack of bills and expenses to give a view inside of what it takes to deliver the love that is our mission.

Just less than a month into the new year, we’re already off to a roaring start.
What were planned as being much needed “Annual Wellness Visits”, have turned into “Annual Surprises” for many.

We still have 11 more to go. We beg the "Surprise" gods to be kind in their assessments.🫣

We need some space to breathe.

Many were concerned about my 10 colonies not having shelters. They cost $25 each and many get put in the garbage the next day, so try again, make another one. One person donated for a shelter for the black kitty after someone threw away the shelter❤️🙏. With a 💔 told cannot leave a shelter it too will be thrown away again. He is still in the parking lot. This is the property of a detention center and completely heartless just like the food being thrown away. No humanity. BUT yes will still go and leave another and another…💔

Priya @gandolf_s is out right now trying to trap kitty. Foster tried all night and morning. He's a stubborn one!
She's pretty skilled at it, but sometimes their fear just overwhelms them.
Please keep sharing for help to vet and care for him. She and Foster have NO room, and no funds, but the ice storm is headed to Atlanta.
Please help him if you can.
And let's collectively WILL him into that trap!!!

@gandolf_s has been busy preparing more shelters for the community babies. Foster Vanessa keeps watch over them on her side of town. (Oakland City) where many of the communities are that have had their shelters thrown away by the cruel humans.
They made 24 of them. Nice going ladies😽

UPDATE: I don’t know where to start , but I have TREMENDOUS APOLOGIZING TO DO. After the worse year ever in my rescue history of 20 plus years in 2O25 where I spent 90% of time at emergencies, Oncology and vet offices, I fell behind on absolutely everything including you my X Family whom I treasure more than most of my family members. I failed to acknowledge many comments and reply. I failed to keep up thanking people on PayPal who sent in a donation whether it was for Leo and Chester emergencies, chemotherapy… I failed to thank help sent in for the very sick 14 new babies rescued in under a month in October or not in a timely manner. I failed to welcome new followers. I AM SORRY. This is not the person who I have been my entire life and it consumes me.

I thought January 2026 I would start to process and grieve for Misty, Thumper, Miri, G2, Chester, while continuing to take care of Leo instead of existing on solely autopilot. At the same time, to catch up on thank you’s and comments. To thank everyone who has helped through Amazon which took away the quick efficient ability to send thank you notes.

Instead, last week I was hit with the devastating news of Mayor Tuxie Bear, another terminally ill throwaway to take care of. He had his ultrasound today and now will be required to see an internist as not only did it confirm the kidney disease, but thickening of the small intestines which could be indicative of Lymphoma.

It is a quiet Sunday. A day of rest.
No vet appointments for us. No trips to the store.
Just quiet time. A chill in the air. A time to snuggle in and contemplate the blessing of love.
Soul to soul.
In this video you’ll see some of the sanctuary souls of the Senior Angel Sanctuary Wing:
Me (Mayor Tuxie) with my dear companions Bailey, Bean Bear, Hammy, Jetsy, and Rupert, all gathered close while Mum Priya gives us those gentle, loving pets made just for us.
We are seniors now.
Some cats get adopted.
Some cats get chosen.
And some of us… never do.

We didn’t get the life people imagine when they think of “rescue success.”
No new family photos. No gotcha day balloons.
No new names and new houses.

But in this Senior Sanctuary Wing, we are treated like what we truly are: precious. family.
I was recently diagnosed with kidney disease.
And now the vet has seen some blood work values she doesn’t like, so she wants me tested for a cancer called lymphoma. It has not been a good couple of weeks.
And I am not feeling my best.
But let me tell you something important, friends, something I know with certainty: Even when the news is heavy…
I am held in love. Purest love.

We came from hardship...street life, hunger, fear, sickness, loneliness.
We were little ones once, trying to survive in a world that did not notice. But Mum Priya did.
She opened her heart, and she did not shut it again.
And we DID get our happy ending…

A sanctuary.
A family.
A lifetime of kindness.
We are safe. We are cherished.
And while other kittens and street cats get rescued and adopted out through our doors, we have the certainty of love that stays.
For the rest of our days.
We are HOME.

This has been the hardest year financially and emotionally @gandolf_s has seen in 20 years.

Cancers. Kidney failure. Heart disease. Liver disease. Multiple surgeries. Endless URIs. Dental surgeries.
A medicine cupboard bursting. Expensive special diets. So many babies traveled 🌈.
~50 spay/neuters.

Christmas is very close, and we know many have already stretched their budgets to the limit. 🎄

We’re trying to close the door on this dreadful year but first we must pay down a $3,000 vet balance, which is standing in the way of care for 8 senior cats waiting for checkups, blood work, a dental, and an eye specialist.
