Early reactions to the test screening of the film RESIDENT EVIL directed by Zach Cregger 🎬

The first test screenings have yielded extremely positive results:

• According to early reviews, Cregger hasn’t simply made another video game adaptation; instead, he’s created a fast-paced, intense film with a lot of personality that relies almost entirely on tension.

• It’s 90 minutes of pure adrenaline, and one attendee described it as a horror version of Fury Road.

• An Avatar-style protagonist: Austin Abrams plays Bryan, a delivery driver who must bring a mysterious briefcase to Raccoon City Hospital in the midst of a viral outbreak. His character acts as a vehicle for the viewer to experience the chaos, much like a player in a video game.

• Instead of an extensive mythology, the film features a small cast and a focused approach. It doesn’t aim to adapt a specific story from the games, but rather to capture their nightmarish essence. There is almost no world-building.

• Early reactions indicate that it is far more cinematic than previous Resident Evil films, with strong visual composition and practical effects doing most of the work.

• Cregger has cited Evil Dead II as his primary tonal reference, seeking a balance between horror, speed, and absolute chaos.

The release is scheduled for September 18, 2026.

I think the rejoicing of this is kinda showing how we've hit critical mass with average player skill & knowledge. Don't heal, spread out, this character is nearly harmless. Dislike it subjectively, but if Legion games are genuinely a struggle, it's a sign the community needs help

Are they strategies? Yes. It doesn't change the fact they're a sign of desperation though. "Counterable" yet the game doesn't really require you to build around those strats. Whining about teabags as if that actually affects them in-game 😂😂😂

@kathrynehurd playing to win the game is different than BMing someone. hitting someone on hook or WSing them is unnecessary additional bad manners that doesn't help you win. tunneling slugging and camping are all valid counterable strategies that a player uses to try to win. big difference
