@marklewismd It’s never been a jOuRnEy for me. That implies a desire or control of some sort. It’s a crazy rickety ass wooden roller coaster of a ride that we don’t ask to get onto but at some point the ride stops for all of us. 🎢🎢🎢
@marklewismd I define myself, 🤬 cancer. Bc what’s more important? Me blabbing about the shitshow that is mbc, or teaching my son about compound interest & starting an employer matched 401k for his 1st job this summer? Mom is my defining life role & cancer can never take that from me.
@marklewismd Fighter on your tombstone is like the ‘lost your battle’ language. Calling dead people losers has always baffled me. And it’s just...rude. But to be fair, I only feel like a warrior like 3% of the time and that’s only when I can get out of target spending less than $100 🎯
@marklewismd It’s also the cancer community’s focus on “prevention” like if we did x, y,
z we could have prevented cancer. I could have checked every item off a prevention checklist yet still got breast cancer at 31, then mbc less than 6 mo later. Let’s change the narrative to risk reduction.
@AdamMarcusPhD Thank you for the work you do in the lab - it’s so important! I’ve been at Emory since 2015 and have no doubt benefitted from research and the latest treatments.
@corrie_painter As a mom living w/ mbc since 2015, it’s a day to honor the lives we’ve lost, celebrate the survivors & thrivers, & thank the amazing nurses, researchers & physicians who care for us & continue to push the boundaries of personalized care & curative therapies. Like @count_me_in
@athleteonchemo Your tweets have brought me so much inspiration and determination. I pray your transition is painless and you find peace and comfort during all this. Thank you for your advice and guidance on this crazy cancer ride. So much love to you and yours as you transition ❤️🙏

@SenatorLoeffler Hey Kel, MLK probably would have taken issues with you campaigning with a Klansmen and racially attaching your Black opponent. How bout just sit this one out and go back to your mansions. You lost. Voted OUT without ever being voted IN....impressive. 👋👋👋
@LibbyMbc@chrisbeatcancer had surgery as part of his treatment. Yes, diet helps but patients shouldn’t be relying solely on nutrition. Integrative oncology combines the best of both worlds. Of course talk to your onc first, but it doesn’t have to be an either/or approach.
@wired4story Ibrance melted my tennis ball sized tumor like butter back in 2016. Was on my chest wall and pics were horrific. Ibrance was a miracle drug for me! Was on it for about 2 years and even got to NED. Hoping to get back to hormone therapy/CDK in the future! Glad you’re having success
