The Meiteis have no respect for women. They have no qualms in outraging the modesty of women. In January 2006, they raped and molested 15 tribal (Hmar) women aged 12-27 from Lungthulien village, Manipur. Till today justice is not served yet.

The incident of the recent viral video happened on 4th May and an FIR was filed on 18th May. The women were under the Police custody and then handed over to the mob by the police themselves. The mob then paraded them naked but the Police didn't do anything to stop the barbaric act which happened just before their eyes. Now that the video has come up and many condemned the heinous and barbaric act, the PM finally spoke.

No action was taken for two months even after an FIR has been filed. And now the video has surfaced, it doesn't even take a day for the Manipur government to arrest those culprits. They should take action against the Police too.

Does this mean that this incident would have been swept under the rug by the Manipur Government if that particular video didn't surfaced???
