@wrexhamris51760@itsafrogslife@HallisseyC What exactly were you trying to prove with YOUR screenshot? I was pointing out that the dictionary definitions vary and that the vast majority refer to bio sex.
@wrexhamris51760@itsafrogslife@HallisseyC the sound of TRAs grasping at straws - that lists it as a gender. The female of a species is not an identity, it's a material reality.
@neilDCFC@ChrisAWatson_@RachaelWongAus@parkrun In the real world many people are bothered - once they realise how misleading, some might say dishonest, PR are being about the categories. You've made it clear that you don't care about protecting fairness for women (the ones without a penis) but many/most of us absolutely do.
@itsafrogslife@HallisseyC so don't say to women who want fair, sex-based categories that they already have this. Female is not a gender, it is a sex-class (the other is male). Park run should stop being dishonest and either make clear it's a gender free-for-all or not bother having those categories.
@itsafrogslife@HallisseyC you said : parkrun already has a separate results category for females - female is a sex category, allowing male ppl to self-ID in renders it meaningless
@neilDCFC@ChrisAWatson_@RachaelWongAus@parkrun Again - you are the one talking about it being a race. In your post-PR email they still give you your rankings overall, and according to age and sex categories. The latter is meaningless if men are included in the F category.
@neilDCFC@ChrisAWatson_@RachaelWongAus@parkrun they also still email you with your time and overall, age-grace placings as well as, crucially, where you came within your sex-based group. Introducing males to this makes it meaningless if you want a good idea of what standard you are.
@neilDCFC@ChrisAWatson_@RachaelWongAus@parkrun I didn't mention a race. It does tho' have course records (you know this right?) which are split into male and female but male ppl can be recorded as female and hold a number of the course records. The logical & fair thing would be to either remove records or make them sex-based.
