The band joins residents of our town in being both deeply shocked and saddened by the horrific attack that unfolded on Saturday 20th June in which three friends lost their lives in Forbury Gardens. #ReadingTogether
#FlintOfTheDay An Early Bronze Age plano-convex knife, possibly unfinished. It has unifacial invasive retouch over the dorsal surface and a D-shaped cross section. It measures 79mm long and 30mm wide at the distal end. πππ
#FlintOfTheDay I couldn't choose so you get 2! An Early Bronze Age barbed & tanged arrowhead and an opposed platform bladelet core, probably dating to the Mesolithic. Both are heavily corticated, a process caused by weathering where the surface of the flint gradually turns white.
#FlintOfTheDay has to be this cute little Early Bronze Age barbed and tanged arrowhead. It has bifacial edge retouch which forms the shape and measures 19mm long and 16mm wide. π
#FlintOfTheDay Lovely end scraper on a blade blank. There's also some micro-serrations and edge gloss on the left edge, potentially caused by plant working.
