I'm profoundly grateful to each person who ever filled in the circle next to my name on the ballot, allowed me to help you resolve a problem you were having, let me know how you felt on any public policy issue or worked with me to pass legislation.
Last tweet as a member of #mileg, it has been the honor of a lifetime to represent nearly all of Washtenaw County in either the MI House or Senate over the past 14 years. Thank you for the opportunity to serve.
I presented this year's recipient, Ashley Desimone, whom I met when I spoke to @GenerationGlobal at @SalineHS, with her award via Zoom from my Lansing office (nice view, right?) Congratulations, Ashley!
I don't want to let the year end without acknowledging one of my favorite personal projects, the Rebekah Warren Envision Michigan Scholarship. Since I began my #mileg service, I have awarded more than $25,000 in scholarships to some of my most promising young constituents.
When we ring in the New Year at midnight, the 55th District will be represented by @feliciabrabec, a dedicated advocate for equity, inclusiveness, social justice, the environment, public health and safety, and more. I look forward to being her constituent! #mileg
Congratulations to @feliciabrabec on her win as #MIโs newest state rep (D-55)!
A former mental health practitioner, Brabec served as Washtenaw Co. Commissioner + is an advocate of racial equity and justice reform, LGBTQ rights, health care, & economic justice. #SheThePeople2020
I'm grateful to every parent (esp. @dawnreneekrause), teacher, school official, attorney & medical professional who's worked with me on HBs 5417-19 to ensure that kids with life-limiting conditions can remain in school. Our bills unanimously passed the Senate today #pediatricdnr

I am grateful to the #mileg Sergeants & the Michigan State Police who are protecting our democratic system of government, and the 16 Electors who are carrying out their important role in it today.
No matter what you think about the Electoral College, and personally I have long believed the current system is not the best way we could choose our President, we should be able to agree that the Electors shouldn't have to worry whether their lives are at risk.
Help is available to avoid evictions for nonpayment, but it's important to file your application today (December 11th) so that it can be processed before funds provided through the federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act expire at the end of the year.
If you are facing #eviction, help is available. Our EDP is available to help qualified #Michigan renters who have fallen behind on rent during #COVID19. Interested individuals are strongly encouraged to submit their applications as soon as possible! https://t.co/WVPi8kVY6g
Data shows new cases and hospitalizations are both improving and, in order to ensure that these trends continue, @michiganhhs has extended the "pause order" for 12 days. They also explained 3 key metrics that will determine when we are ready to carefully reopen. More info below:
MDHHS has identified three key metrics that will be utilized in determining a safe reopening. MDHHS will be looking closely at the percentage of hospital beds with COVID patients, the number of #COVID19 cases and the positivity rate. View the graphic at https://t.co/5KDfzbF8CQ.
As I've advocated for targeted support for the types of small businesses that give our communities their unique character I'm thrilled to see Michigan Strategic Fund's newly-established $10 million grant program will open applications 12/15. More details: https://t.co/EwV9VjcXxF

#GivingTuesday is a reminder that we can all find a way to help another person in need โ whether itโs making a charitable contribution, reaching out to a neighbor, or something else that will help make your corner of the world a better place.
When there were opportunities to find common ground, including when he and I co-chaired the Michigan Cancer Caucus, I was proud to work together with him. He will be sorely missed. https://t.co/Vow7fb3zLh
My thoughts are with Sen. Tom Casperson's loved ones today. In the 10 years we served together in the #mileg, there were times we disagreed vehemently about issues, but it was always clear that he was working do what he believed was right for his constituents.
Thanksgiving celebrations will be different this year, and many of those changes will be difficult as we keep our loved ones safer by not gathering. If you know someone who will be looking for a free, warm holiday meal, please share @FoodGatherersโ Holiday Guide with them.
Are you or someone you know looking for a warm holiday meal this Thanksgiving? Food Gatherers' Holiday Meal Guide has a list of where to find free, local Thanksgiving meals!

With nearly 9,800 new COVID cases reported today, Michigan's leaders should be focused on supporting our front-line workers, slowing disease transmission and meeting the many current needs of our communities. Thank you @GovWhitmer & @LtGovGilchrist for your continued leadership.
