@HydroOne is coming up on 24 hours without being able to turn the power back on. An hour outside Canada largest city and this is what a half hour wind does. It's not even winter.
@HydroOne Are you guys serious with this? 43 hours without hydro (and we're on wells so no water) we're an hour from Canada's largest city and this is the best we can do in the middle of summer? What's your plan for winter?
Taiwan plans to deploy U.S.-supplied HIMARS to Dongyin and Penghu, extending precision-strike coverage into Guangdong and Zhejiang to hit PLA forces during mobilization. But domestic budget cuts to ISR programs threaten effective targeting. With U.S. forces shifted to CENTCOM, Taipei is racing to boost deterrence without appearing escalatory. We have two retirement ages: the one Canada set and the one Canadians use
📌 Set at 70 in 1927, lowered to 65 in 1965. Hasn't moved since.
📈 Life expectancy: 72 in 1965, 82 today. A 10-year gap.
💰 OAS now costs ~$80B/year, 15% of the federal budget.
⏳ The "unofficial" retirement age looks closer to 67-68.
📊 Labour participation among 65-69 year-olds tripled since 2000: 10% to 30%.
💸Delaying pays: CPP +8.4%/yr after 65, OAS +7.2%/yr to age 70.
The official number says 65. The real one says otherwise.

The full transformation of secessionist SNSD’s rule of Bosnia’s RS entity into a familial dynasty nearly complete, as Dodik’s son, Igor, announced as bloc’s lead candidate for party list for entity legislature. He too was relieved of US sanctions last yr. https://t.co/kHJUBLruZe
If I could say one thing to government (at all levels) it would be this:
"Figure out how to keep the lights on, the internet fast, the hospital wait times short. Until you get that sorted you don't get to pursue any of your grand ideas."
Canada Day, an hour from the country's largest city, a half hour wind storm at 5:00 and 7 hours later thousands still without power.
That pretty much sums up Canada.
@HydroOne it's now 19 hours and counting that we've been without power west of Erin - anytime you want to turn the lights back on would be great - we're all on wells out here so we don't have water.
This is the clearest indication yet that Putin knows he is losing - he kills civilians when Ukraine attacks infrastructure - I saw his scorched earth policy first hand in Syria and it didn’t work there either https://t.co/HQEHnHsAgH
More than 52,500 people took shelter from Russian missiles and drones in Kyiv's metro overnight, including nearly 4,500 children.
"It was one of the highest numbers recorded since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion. An extremely difficult night," Kyiv Metro spokesperson, Oksana Nykyforuk, said.

11 hours, no power. No water since it runs the well. The food in the fridge at risk. The sun is about to come up and that adds a new problem.
What that makes me really angry is that this is a semi regular occurrence. It just keeps happening.
I'm so sick of this country.
