From economics perspective:
Less population -> slow economic growth

From political perspective:
Low population -> low tax return from central govt and less seats in the parliament

But normal non-betting games will be in trouble because they don't give some commission to gov't.

Real threat is betting apps but no action will be taken against them

Criticism to the govt was welcomed unlike now which is suppressed and called anti-nationals
