Itโs exhausting being continually expected to feel guilty for something we had no part in and no control over. Slavery happened, it was horrific, and nobody disputes that. But neither the perpetrators nor those directly enslaved are alive today. We can acknowledge history without inheriting guilt for it.
@zarahussain999 You have just made the same tweet that you call disgusting but from the opposite viewpoint.
By your own rationale both are equally disgusting.
@BladeoftheS If everyone worked, this country would be much better off under capitalism too. Adding to society is important in all economic systems not just the taking.
@TheAliceSmith And if socialism is supposed to give power to ordinary working people, why should an educated political elite decide what is best for them?
@PennyCrayon5@sallonsax We are told no one can afford to buy a house with is why there are so many renters. And parents, other rented properties, with roommates- I havenโt done a survey so these are just suggestions.
@ondineb@CallumLyon Itโs tough for small businesses. You want to grow and create jobs, but you just canโt afford to. I hope you manage to be successful despite the difficulties you face.
@ZackPolanski If you took a billion from all the billionaires in the UK and spread it out it is less than ยฃ800 per person. We do not need a wealth tax we need a better economy.
What government manufactured struggle. I have access to healthcare via the NHS when I need it, and I have a job that covers everything I need. You may say Iโm lucky, but I got luckier with every year I worked. But I do have money taken from me in the form of tax, and that has increased every year so I do have something taken away from me.
If a billionaire splits their money across the population of the world, then everyone would get 12p. I donโt think that would buy a house. It wouldnโt even cover a minute of wages for everyone. Even a trillionaire would only pay for one day wages.
Billionaires are not the problem- people expecting something for nothing is.
