Meanwhile, 62% of young people ages 18-29 have a favorable view of socialism, and support for capitalism across the general populace only continues to decline.
We joined the US Out of Korea brigade with @nodutdol and dozens of other anti-war and peace organizations this week to learn more about the true nature of the US military occupation of the ROK.
Camp Humphreys, located in Pyeongtaek, is the largest overseas US military base.
STOP SPYING ON OUR COMMUNITIES!
The People’s Forum stands with the @CWAUnion, @sunrisemvmt, @SEIU, and every organization targeted by the Department of Justice and the Department of Homeland Security’s surveillance of protected First Amendment activity.
The priority of the Trump administration couldn’t be clearer: to punish anyone who dares to stand up against their billionaire agenda. In January 2026, rather than investigating the brutal ICE murders of Alex Pretti or Renee Nicole Good, the US Attorneys and DHS offices in Minneapolis opened an investigation against left-leaning political organizations participating in first-amendment protected activity, including labor unions, collectives, and a climate change advocacy group.
The DHS sent spies to community organizing meetings, infiltrated group chats, and obtained financial records in what they referred to as an inquiry into “domestic terrorist financing.”
None of these organizations have committed a crime.
These intimidation tactics by the Trump administration are meant to silence the movement and make people afraid to organize, assemble, and speak out.
We will not be silenced, and we stand with every group targeted for exercising their constitutional rights.
100 Years of Fidel
Today, August 13, 2026, we mark the centennial of Fidel Castro’s birth: a leader who dedicated his entire life to the Cuban Revolution, the construction of socialism and the cause of the oppressed around the world.
Fidel helped to forge Cuba’s sovereignty — and that struggle continues today. Just 90 miles from the United States, the Cuban Revolution triumphed, proving that a small nation could deliver free healthcare and free education while building a legacy of internationalist solidarity — one that still sends Cuban doctors across the world, wherever they’re needed most, including to disaster zones.
For over six decades, the U.S. blockade has sought to strangle Cuba’s economy, restricting medicine, fuel, food, and other essentials for the Cuba people. Trump’s oil blockade have caused massive blackouts as the US continues to threaten war on the island.
To commemorate Fidel Castro at 100 is to honor both his dedication and the revolution he led and to renew the commitment to end the blockade, remove Cuba from the terrorism list, and defend Cuba’s right to sovereignty.
🔔‼️ We urgently need your help to keep The People’s Forum open! We have shared already the story of the need for us to move from our current space to one that will be a permanent home for the people. We need your help to make this urgent project come to reality.
These are the first photos that we are publicly releasing of our new building. If it isn’t clear…we urgently need your help! Every donation matters, no amount is too small!
From an inoperable elevator to collapsing ceilings, loose wires, damaged walls, old pipes, broken fixtures, and neglected infrastructure, the condition of disrepair in this building will take millions of dollars to renovate. With your help, we see its potential: a permanent home where organizers, workers, students, artists, and community members can gather, learn, and build together.
This space is worth fighting for, and we cannot do it without you. Every contribution helps us repair, restore, and transform this building into a safe, vibrant, and permanent home for the people.

In 2006, immigrant communities and allies shut down business as usual in a general strike to stop the Sensenbrenner bill — a racist assault on immigrants and all working people.
We must take these lessons as we build our movement today against the Trump administration’s wide scale assault on our communities.
📍🇨🇺Did you know that Cuba has one of the lowest maternal mortality rates in Latin America? Or that Cuba’s rate is lower than that of Black women in the US?
And that’s in spite of the immense impacts of the US blockade. Can you imagine what Cuba could achieve without such an economic stranglehold?
Today the Let Cuba Live Youth Brigade spent our final day in Cuba. We visited a maternity care home which caters to expecting mothers. The care here is comprehensive and longterm—well before and after childbirth. The reality in Cuba is that healthcare and the focus on women’s caregiving stands as a stark comparison to that of the U.S.
In Cuba, wholistic care—despite a lack of resources due to the blockade—is prioritized, whereas in the United States, profit comes before people. This is just a small example of why the United States fears a prosperous Cuba. If Cuban society were allowed to function without economic sanctions and the blockade, it would be a shining example for the entire world of how to treat women, children, and all people. This is why we demand to Let Cuba Live because a Cuba rid of strangulation by the United States is an example of a better world—the world we know we deserve. !Cuba Sí, Bloqueo No¡
🚨🇨🇺Today, several participants of the “Let Cuba Live” brigade were targeted, detained and interrogated for hours upon arriving back to Miami from Havana.
We know that this is yet another vicious attempt by the Trump administration to break our solidarity with Cuba and tighten the stranglehold on the Cuban people. But no threats and intimidation can stop our commitment to fight to end the US blockade!
🇨🇺 Members of the Let Cuba Live brigade brought a huge amount of aid from the United States and Puerto Rico—right now we’re organizing all of the aid in order to be distributed amongst everyday Cubans. This is just one small expression of internationalist solidarity. Now, it is up to us to organize, fight, and stand with the Cuban people to bring a complete and unconditional end to the U.S. blockade.
🇨🇺INTIMIDATION AT THE AIRPORT WON'T STOP OUR CUBA SOLIDARITY!
This morning, upon return from Cuba, several members of our "Let Cuba Live" Youth Brigade were targeted, held, and interrogated by Homeland Security for hours. This is a clear violation of the right to travel freely and another attempt to intimidate and threaten young activists who oppose the US government's foreign policy.
It's no surprise that while the Trump administration tightens the fuel blockade on the Cuban people in an act of collective punishment, it also seeks to crackdown on and prevent all forms of friendship and solidarity between people in both countries.
In spite of the Trump administration's desperate attempts to silence us, we remain committed and steadfast in our solidarity with the Cuban people and the fight to end the U.S. blockade once and for all.

We demand justice for Edilberto Espinoza-Sierra NOW!
21-year-old Edilberto Espinoza-Sierra was shot and killed by police early Sunday morning in downtown Wilmington, and his family is demanding justice and answers.
WPD has declined interviews and has yet to release bodycam or dashcam recordings. The officers involved have been placed on paid administrative leave, while the grieving family is demanding answers and justice.
This is not an isolated incident but part of a system that criminalizes young men of color using lethal force. We stand with Edilberto's family demanding justice and transparency!
This month, we’re going to Cuba with 40 young organizers!
Our delegation of young people will meet, exchange, and stand together with Cuban youth — building bonds of solidarity at a moment when the Cuban people face the full force and brutality of the U.S. blockade.
Along with other delegations of people from around the world part of the Nuestra America Convoy, we will deliver humanitarian aid to the Cuban people and reaffirm that a blockade will never sever the ties between peoples who share a common struggle for dignity and justice.
This brigade is part of a broader wave of solidarity — one that has moved over 3k people to donate more than $500,000 to send solar generators & panels to Cuban hospitals.
This evening we held a historic book launch for Tricontinental, Havana 1966, beginning with a grounding from Yuri Gala Lopez of the Permanent Mission of Cuba to the United Nations. The book, edited by Manolo De Los Santos with a foreword by Vijay Prashad, was discussed in conversation with Kate Gonzales, editor at @1804Books
Tricontinental triumphantly compiles the unrecorded and unsung documents of the 1966 meeting of revolutionary delegates from Africa, Asia, and Latin America in the heat of a transforming world for national and socialist liberation in Havana, Cuba. That historic gathering took place amidst the escalating violence of the Vietnam War, alongside liberation struggles sweeping across Africa, from Guinea-Bissau & Cape Verde to Mozambique, Angola, and beyond. All the while, the United States was ramping up lethal aggression against decolonial movements worldwide, determined to crush the possibility of liberation wherever it emerged.
What made Havana 1966 so extraordinary was not only the moment itself, but the persistence it took to create a space where revolutionary ideas, strategy, and internationalist solidarity could be forged, despite differences, war, repression, and imperial retaliation. That insistence on gathering, thinking collectively, and building unity was not optional then, and it is not optional now.
Today, as exclusion, dispossession, and the tightening blockade against Cuba intensify, the lessons and documents of Tricontinental remind us that internationalism is not buried in the past. It is a living practice, and a vital tool for survival and liberation.

SF educators want to be in the classroom — but the district is still denying a fair contract.
So we're staying in the streets until teachers, students and our communities get what we deserve!
It never ceases to amaze me that the best argument of those without any real and factual arguments is to personally attack, bash or insult someone they don’t agree with.
Whatever your political position:
sexually abusing children is wrong
starving children is wrong
bombing children is wrong
stopping children from getting an education is wrong
detaining children in jails is wrong
The Trump administration is IN FACT doing these things. Historically, U.S. govt administrations have done this.
If your brain has a way of excusing that to advance what you may or may not personally like, then, you are not any better.
Trump’s fuel blockade is meant to bring Cuba to its knees by forcing a famine under a genocidal siege.
Against all odds, Cuba just hit 900 MW in solar energy, about 25% of the power needed to meet its total electricity demand during peak hours.
Cuba will not surrender!
Cuba has never been a threat to the U.S. It has been the U.S. government administrations that have consistently and aggressively aimed to destroy the will of the Cuban people by imposing an inhumane and illegal blockade.
Hands Off Cuba!
