Nolan Wells didn’t drown –– and the capitalist state is covering it up. We need a system that fights racism, not protects it.

All across the country, students have been holding walkouts to demand justice –– because his death and the mishandling of it exposes the ongoing war on Black America.

We’ll stay in the streets until the case is reopened, his killers are locked up, and the racist, capitalist system is dismantled. Justice for Nolan Wells!

The Pentagon is deploying 600 U.S. troops to Panama, Colombia and Honduras under the guise of fighting a renewed “War on Drugs”.

The U.S. military has no business intervening in Latin America, where it has a history of training death squads, massacring indigenous peoples, and overthrowing sovereign governments. This latest attempt by the U.S. empire to expand control over the Latin American region will not prevail!

U.S. OUT OF LATIN AMERICA!

🇨🇺 Solidarity is not a crime, the inhumane U.S. blockade on Cuba is. The blockade is a silent genocide, a decades-long war designed by the U.S. government. It is collective punishment aimed at inflicting maximum damage on the island, its people, and their everyday lives.

Last month, during UN General Assembly week, hundreds of peace activists, progressive leaders, and artists filled the Schomburg Center in Harlem for Voices for Peace: Cuba Is Not A Threat. We stood with Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez and a powerful lineup of speakers — including Rosemari Mealy (former Black Panther Party member), Rachel Domond (ANSWER Coalition), Dailyn Briñas (Cubans4Cuba), and NYC Council Member Alexa Avilés — to demand an end to the U.S. blockade and its unending threats against Cuban sovereignty.

Together, we declared: the blockade must end. Let Cuba live. Solidarity is not a crime the blockade is!

The racist deportation machine is bipartisan funded. So how do we end ICE terror for good?

Time and time again, Democrats have failed to deliver comprehensive immigration reform, leaving millions of workers in limbo and vulnerable. Now, Trump and his team of billionaire bigots are empowered to unleash state-sanctioned violence against immigrant communities — threatening the rights and safety of us all.

We won't end ICE terror by relying on the same politicians who built and continue to fund the deportation machine. We need a mass movement powerful enough to dismantle it and win permanent, full and equal rights for all immigrants.

Immigrant workers keep this country running — not billionaires! Abolish ICE!

HAPPENING NOW: New Yorkers are demanding ICE off their streets after an agent shot a man in the Bronx Thursday afternoon.

The extent of the unidentified man's injuries is unknown. He reportedly had a five-year-old in the car when he was shot.

TODAY: Chicagoans rally to demand the off-duty CPD officer who shot two people and fired into a crowd be named, charged, and arrested.

COPA reported today that the officer fired two guns at the same time, with some bullets going into people’s homes.

Little Village is at the front lines of state terror from ICE, Border Patrol, and CPD. We need killer cops off our streets, and money instead going to people’s needs!

VICTORY: A federal judge has dismissed the Trump DOJ’s FACE Act lawsuit against PSL New Jersey and other pro-Palestine protesters!

The court ruled that a social media post calling for protest was protected First Amendment speech—a call to assemble—not a threat of violence.

As U.S. forces leave Iraq, we reflect on the words of anti-war veteran Mike Prysner: “Our enemies are not in the poorest countries on the planet, but right here in the richest one!”

The war on Iraq was a failure—the U.S. was never able to subdue the Iraqi people, who resisted the U.S. invasion until the last day. Bush, Cheney and the architects of the war will be remembered as criminals by people in the U.S. and across the world, who took to the streets in the millions to stand on the side of peace and justice.

From Iraq, to Iran, Afghanistan, Syria, Palestine, Yemen, Lebanon and Libya, the U.S. war machine has left a trail of blood across West Asia, waging war after war against sovereign peoples with our tax dollars. It is the responsibility of all people of conscience to fight for a world where our resources are no longer used to wage war, genocide, and occupation!

Today marks 25 years since the formation of the ANSWER Coalition (@answercoalition). In the years since its founding, organizers have dedicated two decades to the fight against racism, militarism and war.

Right now, Trump desperately seeks to reassert unipolar dominance in a new era of geopolitics. The U.S. is no longer the world hegemon but that has not softened the brutality and rugged imperialism of the far-right’s agenda.

Because the ANSWER Coalition prioritized campaigns against racism and linked them to the larger war drive the Coalition built a bridge between the US antiwar movement and the besieged communities that continues to this day.

ANSWER has played a major role in integrating these communities into the larger antiwar movement rather than allowing them to stand alone in the face of a racist assault against their basic democratic rights.

THE ANSWER COALITION: 25 YEARS OF ORGANIZING AGAINST WAR AND RACISM

On September 14, 2001, just three days after the September 11 attacks that killed over 3,000 civilians, a group of organizers formed the ANSWER Coalition, which dedicated itself to relaunching an antiwar movement in the United States.

25 years later, the ANSWER Coalition is committed to continuing to fight against U.S. empire and militarization, at home and abroad!

In response to the September 11 attacks, the Bush Administration launched an all out campaign inside the US against Arab-Americans, Iranian-Americans, South Asian communities, and Muslim-Americans. Thousands of people were detained not for what they had done but because of who they were. Arab communities were viciously demonized and targeted.

The FBI sent agents into mosques around the country. People were recruited as spies against their own communities rather than be sent to prison on trumped up charges. Twenty five years later it is hard for people who were not there or who were too young or maybe not yet born to understand the gravity of the anti-Arab hysteria that was generated inside the US by the “War on Terror.”
