Our story of the week is Julia Donaldson’s ‘Snail and the Whale’ 🐌 🐋 Moon class have been drawing pictures of the story and using onomatopoeia words in a shared writing activity. The roll of paper was the length of our whole classroom! 😁

In Moon class we discussed the reasons why we should keep our beaches clean and tidy. Our small world beach area had been littered with rubbish! Luckily, we have lots of helpful children who were keen to clean up the mess so that the sea creatures could continue to live safely 😁

Such a busy first week back already! The children have been mixing materials to make their own paint 🎨 it was a messy but very fun activity. The children used a variety of materials and equipment. #collaboration

The children used their planning skills to collaboratively construct a castle and carriage for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee! Each child took on a different role to make sure that the task was successful. #aimhigh 👸 🏰

Reception Moon explored painting with bubbles today. Over the next few weeks Reception Moon will be creating their own rock pool using a variety of creative techniques. Today, we started making the water using bubbles and paint 🫧 🎨 the children really enjoyed this process 😁

It was a rainy lunchtime so we had our lunch under the gazebo in the dry! Lots of sandy wet toes and happy smiling faces 😁

We had such a great day at Rest bay beach with Emma from @BeachAcadWales, we learned so much about how to search for sea creatures in rock pools and how to handle each of the sea creatures safely.

Emma taught us so much about each sea creature! We even got to see a female crab carrying her eggs under her tail! 🦀

📌 Parent reminder - our bus leaves school at 9.15 am for our trip to rest bay beach 🚌 gates open at 8.45 am. Please make sure your child has a waterproof coat on with a hood in case of rain 😁
