One of the things I wanted to do when we started Reclaimers was make sure that we kept a group that was mostly marginalized folks getting to roleplay, and to try a bunch of different games.

Right now we're 3 BW, 1 Latinx and 1 Asian and BEEN going steady with RPGs.

Chris: I think -most- games do better with some setting and theme baked it. It doesn't need a ton, but a little helps.

That said, the best way to find out is to have people who aren't you playtest it and ask them whether the rules alone were inspiring & easy to use in play.

- Rules reference sheet, formatted for screen viewing
- If the game uses non-standard dice/cards, let us know what online VTT or tool works best for it

Games that reward XP on failure, they push you to do things your character is bad at.

For AW, the point is that any Move is a little fraught with danger & has interesting outcomes win or lose, so it's more about HOW the group wants to see you do stuff to change the world. 2/2

One of the interesting differences in original AW vs. many PbtA games is that AW rewards XP based on using two chosen stats, whether you succeed or fail.
