@Nusbacher Personally I think a pistol, sword, or short sword/bayonet all work fine for defense in their own situations. And in a true defense situation- anything is better than nothing and anything can be a weapon.
I do love a good sword fight though.
@Nusbacher I can agree to that. I served both CONUS and overseas and got the civilian cop experience though overseas for me was divided between combat duty (felt like scout infantry) and Joint Task Force (felt like baby sitting US personnel).
@Nusbacher They got training on firearms in basic training but the gun itself wasn’t a tool of their trade. Exclusive to that was the combat arms jobs which is estimated at 10-17% of military personnel.
@Nusbacher The vast majority of our service members don’t actually work with firearms on a daily basis. I was a military police officer and did use/wear a firearm every day on duty but most others didn’t. They were doctors, truck drivers, cooks, computer scientists, pilots, media, etc.
