Mercifully, a peaceful day is all that waits either of the three. Pidgey gently chirping, Caterpie climbing trees. And a young child finally getting the rest she deserves.

It was relieving to see the young Deliah finally relaxed enough to fall asleep with nary a worry in sight.

Gradually, Lu stopped humming the lullaby and kept a watchful eye at their surroundings.

And thus, her breathing calms. She keeps Jolt close, the both falling into an eased slumber.

Clearing her throat, it took Lu a moment to think of a lullaby before gently humming it to the young child.

“It gets pretty noisy…” she sighs; it’s no lie either. The neighbours can be pretty noisy at times. Especially late into the night. That’s without any late night battles on the go.

At first, she instinctively draws back. But eventually, she exhales a short sigh, instead opting to hide her face as a whole.

“… It still doesn’t feel right. I—I can just sleep more tonight with Jolt. It was just noisy outside, so it was hard to sleep.”

Lu first spoke with a soft sigh, deciding to gently move some of that hair away from her face.

“You deserve the rest more than I do, trust me. Especially since you didn’t get much sleep.”

Their voice was soft, reassuring; her smile the same.

Oddly enough, a look of concern dashes her face. Moving back a smidge, she looks toward Lu with a faint frown.

“… That’s not fair to /you/, though. We can’t just take up all the napping space… even if it /was/ hard to get to sleep last night. I— I’d feel better if you —

In all honesty, Lu feels honoured to make both her and Jolt feel that way; smiling as she wrapped her arms around the two.

“A little. But you’re a lot more tired than I am.

Have a kip, okay? I got you.”

And around Lu, both her and Jolt feel safe. They can lower their guards a smidge, allow themselves to slightly ease up.
