College coaches recruit regionally first. Many smaller programs don’t have the staff or resources to go national and they don’t need to. If you want to play away from home, get your film out and tell coaches WHY you fit their program. #Recruiting
Basketball on a college campus is more than a game, it’s a community. It brings students, staff, and fans together, creating energy, pride, and lifelong bonds. Being part of it is truly special and something you carry with you forever. #basketball#impact
Committing the right way: be honest, direct, and grateful. Call the coach, thank them, and communicate clearly. The wrong way: ghosting, dragging it out, or hiding behind texts. Respect matters. This game is smaller than you think. #commit#recruiting
The grass isn’t always greener on the other side in college hoops. Chasing logos can cost you playing time, development, and fit. Go where you’re valued, trusted, and can grow because the right situation beats the “bigger” name every time. #recruitment
Less than 3.5% of HS players make it to college hoops. Under 1% reach D1. 70% of programs are east of the Mississippi, and the portal + international talent are reshaping recruiting. Stop chasing logos…go where you’re wanted, valued, and can play! #recruiting
Toughness wins in basketball. It’s doing the hard things, defending, rebounding, communicating, & competing every possession. Skill gets you noticed, but toughness keeps you on the floor. If you want to be successful, you have to bring it every single day
It’s never easy telling a coach you’re choosing another school. But being honest &letting them know directly goes a long way. Coaches respect transparency. U never know where that coach will be in 2, 4, or 6 years. Relationships matter in recruiting. #recruiting
Things HS players wish they knew earlier about the recruiting process: Exposure isn’t everything. Fit/ Academics matters. Coaches value communication. Film is king. Be patient, the right opportunity takes time. Most important, go where you’re wanted & can play. #Recruiting
2028’s & 2029’s the most important thing this offseason isn’t exposure or club ball, it’s PLAYER DEVELOPMENT. Unless you’re an ESPN Top 150 prospect, college coaches aren’t recruiting 28s & 29s yet. Build your game now. The exposure will come later. #recruitment
Stay adaptable, open-minded & patient in the recruiting process. Things change fast.Rosters, needs, budgets, timelines. Don’t panic or rush. Trust the fit, not the hype. The right opportunity often comes to those who stay ready and flexible. #recruiting
Most HS seasons are coming to an end soon. The offseason is where real separation happens. Have a PLAN. Get in the weight room. Tighten your handle. Improve your shot. Develop your body. Study film. Don’t just play, develop. The work u do now shows next winter.
RECRUITS: Have your film READY. 🎥 Coaches don’t have time to chase highlights. When they ask, you need to send a clean, updated link immediately. Full games + highlights. If your film isn’t accessible, you’re getting skipped. Be prepared so you don’t miss your opportunity.
Thinking about entering the portal: Keep perspective. Playing college 🏀 as a freshman is HARD. Don’t get discouraged. Did you start varsity as a HS freshman? Probably not. Now you’re battling 22-23 yr old vets. Stay patient. Develop. Your time will come.
The college 🏀 recruiting process is SLOW right now. Coaches are in the thick of their seasons & focused on their current teams. March & April it will heat up once seasons end, the portal opens, and exit meetings happen.Stay proactive, prepared. & ready!
PLAYERS: The BEST recruiting advice you’ll ever get is: GO where you’re WANTED & where you can PLAY! Stop listening to people with no real knowledge or connections hyping you up. Your are the level that RECRUITS you. Period. Be smart. #Recruiting
