The Cougars had 12 hits on the evening, with Haywood and Chance Lopez each with 3 hits and 3 RBI. Vavak also went 2-4 and stole 6 bases. The win moves the Cougars to 1-1 (1-0). Next game is scheduled for Monday, on the road, vs. Armorel.

Congrats to all the baseball stars that were name @AllArkansasPrep for 2024. @slade_caldwell takes home Player of the Year honors and @GosnellBaseball skipper Aaron Coots named Coach of the Year. Senior Ashton Scott. Ashton finished the year with a .250/.463 line. He also had a 2.97 ERA with 44K in 37.2 IP. Ash finished his career with a .248/.403 line and was 7-1 on the mound with a career ERA of 2.64. and all-conference selection his senior year. #17 will be missed.

Senior Kaden Avery. Kaden made a huge impact in his only year of Sr. High Baseball. He finished the year with .300/.417 line, knocking in 21 runs and stealing 21 bases while playing tremendous LF defense. #2 will be missed.

Senior Carter Hill. Carter finished the season batting .239/.465. He stole 15 bases and made numerous huge plays in RF. #5 will be missed.

Rector’s season came to an end with an 8-4 loss to Ouachita. Rector finished with a record of 23-6 on the year and the first school baseball state semi-final appearance in 23 years. We are super proud of all our young men for a fantastic year.
