#1 in Canada!
This year, Albertans recycled billions of cans and bottles, earning the #1 spot in Canada and #2 in North America. We did this without ridiculous sweeping plastic bans like we see coming out of Ottawa.
Albertans are leaders, and of course it’s great to see these materials being kept out of rivers, lakes, ditches and landfills.
Our leadership goes all the way back to Premier Lougheed, and our system was expanded under Ralph Klein. Thanks to all of our partners including the ABRC, bottle depots and Albertans for keeping it up!

Kudos to our partners @RecycleABCRC for this amazing achievement!
🌟 With an 85% return rate for non-refillable beverage containers, #Alberta leads #Canada and ranks #2 in North America! This success showcases Albertans' commitment to #recycling and the strength of our industry-led system. https://t.co/8CAzsRww3s

A quick tip from your ABCRC family: When returning beer bottles, when possible, bring them in their original case. This helps depots streamline sorting the brown bottles from the clear bottles. ♻️
Do you usually keep your beer bottle cases, or is this news to you?
