Jaehyun has two female cousins. The person who went to Lake Como with him was his younger cousin. During Milan Fashion Week, someone reportedly filmed a video clearly showing her face and then approached SM staff, allegedly trying to use the footage to demand money. Neither Jaehyun nor the staff engaged with that person.After Jaehyun became aware of what had happened, he chose to post the photos and videos himself on Instagram to protect both himself and his cousin and to prevent the situation from being exploited further.
Whatever people may think, I believe his actions showed honesty and a strong sense of responsibility. Even knowing that he himself might receive criticism, he chose a way that minimized the potential harm to the people around him.
Please respect Jaehyun’s privacy, as well as the privacy and image rights of his relatives who are not public figures. There is no justification for dragging private individuals into rumors and speculation.
His younger cousin is currently still a university student and has not even graduated yet. Spreading rumors that a university student is somehow involved in an inappropriate relationship with her own cousin is incredibly disturbing. Where is the basic line of decency?
