We’re a grassroots coalition of educators, parents & community members who are creating actions to support our public schools. #RedForEd#Red4Ed#FundOurSchools
Dems capitalizing on opposition to school vouchers isn't just an Iowa thing. Which makes sense. If you're a GOP voter who sees vouchers as an expensive giveaway to the rich or a state takeover of private schools, your party no longer represents you.
American workers just took home their smallest share of the nation's wealth since 1947 — even as corporate profits soar.
Why? This chart has the answer.
🚨 HOLY SHIT.
CNN just cited a New York Times estimate saying Trump has reportedly profited $1.4 BILLION from the presidency.
And the wildest part?
One panelist said Trump made MORE MONEY in the last year than in the rest of his life combined.
Think about that.
The Department of Education has confirmed it needs more time for votes to be counted in the Teachers’ Retirement System election. Each candidate’s tellers (vote counters) will have additional time to count and verify votes.
While this election is administered by the DOE, the UFT is closely monitoring the process and will provide updates as vote tallying moves forward on June 2.
Thanks again to all our members who participated in these elections!
(1/2) On the Virginia National Guard’s 419th birthday, we honor the oldest continuously serving military organization in the nation and the generations of service members who have answered the call to serve our Commonwealth and country.
Good to finally see some acknowledgement that school vouchers - and the scorched earth campaign needed to enact them - are turning out to be a liability for the GOP
Labor unions on veto: "Shame. Governor Abigail Spanberger today betrayed half a million of Virginia’s public service workers by going back on her campaign promise to support collective bargaining rights for the people who keep our Commonwealth and communities running every day."
New from me: New York Gov. Kathy Hochul confirmed to Jewish leaders on Thursday that she will opt into a new federal education tax initiative, a move promoted by community advocates to help fund Jewish day schools and yeshivas.

nice to see the NYT finally acknowlege that the unpopularity of school vouchers in Iowa has given the Dem candidate an opening there. (Curious as to whether the Dems that are pushing so hard to get the party to embrace vouchers think he should run as a fan)
Trend of voters rejecting conservative culture war candidates continued in Texas yesterday. Combine latest school board wipeouts with support for school bond measures across the state and kinda makes you wonder about the TX GOP's decision to become the anti public school party
On here everyone who is anyone agrees that the kids are dumb because progressives abandoned standardized tests. But in the real world candidates are running in who hates them more
The Texas Tech system will prohibit Masters and PhD students from earning degrees with theses or dissertations on sexual orientation or gender identity. A blatantly unconstitutional attack on academic freedom.
