ᅠᅠThe no-paperwork promise hit second, then the phone number, then the home offer. Stay at Yanagi’s place?! Warm. Soft. Food!!! A corner that wasn’t a vent!?

—“W-wait. Wait wait wait. You heard I need a place? And you’re just handing me a house?? And lunch?? And chocolate for the snitch?? And you don’t even mind the tail?!”—

ᅠᅠHer tail had already decided! It stayed put, greedy and shameless, soaking up that warm soft skin like it had filed Yanagi under good. Cissia’s whole chest went stupid about it!!! Home used to be a storybook word. A full meal and a warm corner was supposed to be enough. This was already too much and she still wanted it!!!

ᅠᅠChalky popped up from her collar, staring at the chocolate like he’d been personally wronged. Cissia clapped a hand over his face without looking.

—“No!! Mine!! You ate!! Traitor!! We do NOT share the good stuff with officers OR roommates who snitch!!”—

ᅠᅠHer tail had already betrayed her again. It slithered across the floor and curled loosely near Yanagi’s shoe, testing, greedy, pretending it was an accident.

—“Lunch...”— She swallowed, pointed the half-eaten bar at Yanagi like evidence. —“You bow, you feed me, you say it’s not work… that’s how they get you, y’know. First it’s chocolate. Next thing you know I’m calling people ma’am and filling out forms and my soul leaves my body...”—
