Evra argued: "People say, oh, Messi did not win the World Cup because he scored 5 penalty kicks, and I say, go and score those kicks! I don't understand what people are arguing... you have all this pressure and the whole country is watching you as if you miss those kicks people will never forgive you."

🚨🗣️ Rio Ferdinand on why Manchester United should forget Elliot Anderson and sign Sandro Tonali instead.
"Manchester United need to stop hesitating in the market. Manchester City have just put £106m on the table for Elliot Anderson and Nottingham Forest want even more. At that point, I'd walk away.
I'm a huge fan of Anderson, but if City are pushing that hard, they've probably already won the race.
If I'm United, I'm looking at Sandro Tonali. He's Premier League proven, aggressive, technically excellent and has the personality to handle the pressure of Old Trafford.
Then I'd add Matheus Fernandes alongside him. You've got quality on the ball, energy, physicality and balance in midfield.
Sometimes the smartest transfer is the one you make after walking away from another deal. Tonali and Matheus Fernandes would completely transform Manchester United's midfield."
🚨Fabrizio Romano on Manchester United’s pursuit of Mateus Fernandes:
🗣️ “I can confirm that after several rounds of discussions, Manchester United have submitted an opening proposal for Mateus Fernandes worth around £40 million plus add-ons.
At this stage, West Ham are reluctant to accept the offer as they value the player significantly higher and believe his long-term potential justifies a larger fee.
Negotiations remain ongoing, but there is currently a gap between the two clubs’ valuations.
Manchester United appreciate Fernandes’ profile and see him as a young midfielder capable of developing into an important player in the coming years.
However, the club is also aware of other opportunities in the market and will not allow negotiations to drag on indefinitely.
Carlos Baleba, Sandro Tonali, Elliot Anderson and Ederson remain among the midfield names being monitored internally.
United’s recruitment team has spent months assessing different profiles in order to strengthen the centre of the pitch.
The club’s priority is to secure a young midfielder who can contribute immediately while also becoming a key part of the long-term project.
Only after that position is addressed will Manchester United fully accelerate plans in other areas of the squad.
Several defensive and attacking targets continue to be evaluated, but midfield remains the primary focus for now.
The coming weeks will be important in determining whether a compromise can be reached with West Ham or whether Manchester United decide to move on to alternative targets.”
