Thank you. I'm fine, though I do still occasionally battle depression and rage. I just want to be and do according to our Father's will. I will be heading to Pensacola tomorrow with a friend whose son lost his entire roof in Isaias, so perhaps pray for health, safety, strength, and perseverance. God bless you and yours.
@JoelWBerry Wow. If this is a fall (meaning he had at some point given himself to Christ), it does seem hard and fast...one of many living cautionary tales as we approach the end of the age.
I'm fine with everything you write here. Is there a better take or approach? Perhaps. I might have a quibble. But we need a victory mindset first and foremost. That in itself, combined with strategic wisdom and Godly discernment, will result in good decisions. I think you embody these qualities and I would follow you into battle. One additional point: if we're going to have capital punishment, the appeals process need to be both thorough and swift. 2-3 years seems more than reasonable to me, and would aid in deterrence.
@MerylsaMess There is an event horizon for every soul, beyond which it becomes too late to change one's mind or ways or allegiance. And we don't know the day or the hour. Sobering. But we can thank God for the measure of grace and faith he has given to us. Humbling. There but for...
@megbasham Yachtzee! I can't stomach videos of the evil done by those who murder the innocent for pleasure or to make a point. But I would gladly wield a rifle to make sure justice was served upon those guilty of such evil. As much as I detest violence, I would not shy away from that duty.
@LarryTaunton Not right, of course. But do I feel better that she is neatly extracting a sliver of my pizza rather than forking bites of salad directly from my plate or adding a bodily fluid to my soup? Why, yes. Yes I do.
@LarryTaunton@SteveDeaceShow I would have paid good money to attend that. Cooper is so wrong that I don't know how he is anything other than a completely nefarious actor that would have no real response to basic facts and truths.
As a young boomer (not quite 70 yet), I would be in the 11%. But I don't trust Cato, and I don't believe in this collective sin mindset as it pertains to groups, any more than I believe in collective salvation. I am one, who is praying there are enough like me and you who are praying to own our collective sin as a nation, and turn back to God while there is still time, before old and young feel the sting of judgment in ways we can scarcely imagine. A large number of the 32 million Christians who normally sit on their collective arses getting out and voting for non-Jihadis and non-Marxists would be one good sign. God bless you, Todd, and Aaron and your families.
@DataRepublican@DefiyantlyFree I'm voting straight republican. True, it can be like voting for a Forrest Gump box of chocolates (not sure what I'm getting), but voting otherwise is voting for some form of godless or "other god" authoritarianism that wants us destitute or dead. No!
Not all of us are blind to this, but how many can truly see and will vote accordingly. When God finished with his initial creation effort at the end of day six, he called it...all of it..."very good." And yet, Christians act like this is not our home and we are not imagers and stewards of this place. If America falls, and darkness reigns for a time, it will be because a critical mass of my Christian kin did not pray and stand in the evil day. It is not too late, but it is very late.
