A tactician who prides himself on being objective shouldn't claim Delap is better than Šeško and Gyökeres.
Based on their performances, there hasn't been a single season where Delap outperformed either of them.
There's something you need to know: these people have clubs they like and dislike.
They give their tactics opinion based on their bias mind, not based on real statistics.
I like the way Manchester United are handling their business this transfer window.
It's also refreshing to see journalists relying on information directly from the club rather than chasing speculation. It makes the reporting far more credible.

🗣️ @David_Ornstein on Carlos Baleba:
“That’s something [Carlos Baleba] that just doesn’t seem to be on Manchester United’s agenda so far this summer. Maybe that changes because we are still relatively early in the window.”

Arsenal spent decent money on Eze, Gyokeres. Madueke, and Zubimendi. Not sure if you would call anyone really marquee signing. The important part is Arsenal signed 8 players in one summer. Solved their squad depth issue as they were fighting for multiple competitions.
United need to do something similar, marquee signing or not. Got to sign 8 signings. Got to address that squad depth issue.
Man City potentially spending over £200m on Anderson and Bouaddi despite spending £100m+ on Gonzales and Reijnders in 2025 is nuts..
Where do they get all this money?🤔
When it comes to Manchester United signing Youri Tielemans & Andrey Santos compared to Elliot Anderson, Mateus Fernandes or Sandro Tonali that it's a question of quality, it's not. It is value for money.
Nobody is denying how good Anderson is, but he wanted to join City & even if he didn't, he is not worth £116m. The club can't spend that on a single player this summer. Fee the justifiable reason to walk away.
Nobody is denying they wanted Fernandes, but even if he was worth £85m the club couldn't blow up their wage structure to make him a top 3 paid player. Wages alone the justifiable reason to walk away.
Tonali simply wasn't worth the fee or the money. There is no world where he is worth £100m & the same wage Bruno Fernandes is paid. The club were right to walk away from that one a long time ago.
Even if you are ok with the fees being quoted in an inflated market, dressing room dynamics play a part. Good luck explaining to Cunha, Mbeumo, Sesko & Mainoo why those players are paid so much more.
Manchester United are reducing a bloated wage structure. It's clear wage bills correlate with success & it will naturally increase with better performance & as the club recovers from a revenue perspective.
The club spent years upon years doing bad deals. Overpaying for transfers who seemed like good ideas, giving out bloated contracts to players who seemed worth it. How do people have such short memories?
Labelling people who understand or care about the financial aspect as accountants misses the point. You should care about the money too. It all ties into the club's ability to spend to it's absolute maximum.
Context matters. If you aren't paying attention, maybe you should start - because you're missing the point.
