@TheKurama26 yeah that tracks. They move the goal post depending on how bold they feel and what words will get the greatest shock value, or gain the most sympathy. It's what happens when their views are, at the root, based on emotions.
Been seeing repeats of the question; would you post if you got 0 likes?
But I ask: would you keep posting if you got nothing but hate. no support? how much value do your ideas have to you? I think this is a better question.
I think that games like Inzoi are a good way to guage what the average player wants to see in their games. Or any game with a character creation menu. If a majority of the characters are attractive, chances are, that's what the majority wants to see. I kinda trailed a smidge off topic here but I just now thought of it.
Fuck even Inzoi was a disappointment to me. granted that's likely a failure on my part. I had never played a "life sim" before and I think I had higher expectations while being attracted to the character creator.
I legit got excited because I thought that you could make a character or more that have relationships that grow, change, who's lives are affected by external forces that could cause pivotal change and whatnot. Especially with some of the employment options for the characters not exactly being legal. I dunno, I expected more of a simulation of life in a literal more exciting sense.
It definitely doesn't feel like a game and feels more like playing dolls in a dollhouse.
@Sir_Dammed Oh a hundred percent without a doubt, guaranteed. I've been around the block and partaken in a few degenerate games as well. There's no way those mods exist without someone joinkin their junk to it.
I find it interesting that they'll admit when a job they don't want to do is male dominated and express that it's a problem. But when it comes to a hobby that is enjoyable, they're a lot less drawn to admitting it's male dominated.
I feel like it would make more sense for them to look at it being male dominated and desire to change that. It would still be stupid but at least it would be a bit more based in reality.
No, 50% of gamers are not women.
This claim originated from an ESA global survey that doesn't even account for things like hours played. Meaning: someone who's played a cell phone game for 1 hour would be counted as "a gamer."
Anyone with even a basic grasp of fandoms and hobbies understands that's not how this works. If you read three pages of a comic book once, then put it down and never do it again, you're not a comic book fan. Stating otherwise would just be lying/posing.
When studies and surveys look at who actually calls themselves "gamers," men overwhelmingly outnumber women in the hobby. When studies and surveys look at those who game 10+ hours per week on average, men outnumber women in the hobby. When studies and surveys look at who games on console and PC, men overwhelmingly outnumber women in the hobby.
If you hear these statistics and feel personally attacked by them, it just means you're more interested in pushing a narrative than the truth.
That truth being: gaming is a male hobby... and while women are more than welcomed into it... trying to change it in order to make it into something that it's not because you find it "problematic" just exposes yourself as an outsider, and a tourist.
