💛 We’re incredibly proud to share the success of our fundraising efforts as part of the EDF Bright Sparks initiative!
🍦 Pupils were given just £20 and challenged to turn it into as much money as possible for Alice House Hospice and what an amazing job they did.
🍧 Throughout the term, we organised a range of fundraising activities, including selling ice pops during the exam period to help pupils stay cool and refreshed. To mark World Bee Day, we also promoted the importance of bees by creating and selling “Revive a Bee” kits for people to use at home.
✨ We were honoured to attend the awards ceremony at Hartlepool Power Station, where awards were presented by Carole Thompson and Phil Holbrook.
🏆 We are delighted to have received a Gold Award for raising an incredible £376, as well as the award for Most Creative Idea!
👏 A huge well done to everyone involved for their hard work, creativity, and community spirit!

🥐 What a busy day it was at the French Café!

🧱 Year 6 had a fantastic day exploring history along Chesters Roman Fort and hiking up to the milecastle at Housesteads Roman Fort.
🌳 They even caught a glimpse of Sycamore Gap, and at The Sill: National Landscape Discovery Centre saw part of the actual trunk from the famous tree that once stood there.
☂️ Despite the rain everyone had a brilliant time soaking up the views and the history.

👑 Year 2 stepped into the shoes of royalty, dressing up in fabulous costumes and reflecting on all they’ve learned about the British monarchy for Kings and Queens day.
🏰 The classroom buzzed with excitement as pupils revisited their work on castles designing and building their own. Teamwork and creativity were on full display!
🍗 In the afternoon, they shared their favourite foods at a royal banquet fit for kings and queens, followed by ribbon twirling, jousting and of course the royal coronation.

🐸 Pupils have loved exploring the fascinating life cycle of frogs in biology, they have observed the frogs’ life cycle, from frog spawn developing into tadpoles and then undergoing metamorphosis into froglets. The pupils have really enjoyed learning about the different stages of development and the biological changes that take place during metamorphosis.
🌿 Catching them was hard work, but our box of frogs has now been safely returned to the pond habitat. We do still have a few stragglers left who are continuing to develop before they are ready for release.
🌳 The project has been a brilliant hands-on way for the children to explore life cycles, adaptation, ecology, and ecosystems, particularly understanding the importance of ponds as habitats and the role frogs play within a balanced ecosystem.
