Currently, we are focusing on events on the Russo-Ukrainian War, but do note that at times I do interact with +18 accounts. Be warned!
Flavio Bolsonaro's Floridaman brother Eduardo is calling for him to flee Brazil so that they can plot a coup from their evangelical swamp country.
To the sino-netizens who've recently discovered international electoral shenanigans, welcome to Latin American politics.
@jeffbearholy Oh hey, Jeff, been a fan of your art for a while.
I'm going to have to put on my historical anthropologist hat here and do a bit of explaining.
The way that US settlers rationalize their expansion is through this myth of the noble savage.
Pretty ironic about seeing a Native American chief painted on the tail of a F-16, as if they had always treated Native Americans with such respect. European colonization of the Americas led to the loss of an estimated 55 million Indigenous lives — roughly 90% of the population
The Egyptian economy is absolutely getting hammered by the cost of gas imports. Which is a really ridiculous situation considering how much of the country is a barren desert and one of the sunniest places on earth. Using gas for electricity under these conditions is very silly.
That doesn't mean that the poor can never defeat the rich or rebels can never defeat the state. Just that organization and outside backing matter. Of course they would!
So it was in Vietnam. The “rice paddy farmers” of American popular imagination were backed by an actual state, North Vietnam, that in turn was backed by the full industrial might of the Soviet bloc.
Yemen: Operation “And Allah is More Severe in Power and More Severe in Punishment” [26/10/2026]: Pt 2 🇾🇪
In Lahij, following three days of fighting, the Aden forces have been forced to retreat from the Al Madaribah front, withdrawing to the areas of Amnabiyah, Durad and Shatin, where a new line of defence is being established. As a result, Sanaa forces have taken control of Jabal Mahjabah and Jabal Hajijah.
There are reports that Ansarallah has taken control of Turbat Abu al-Asra near the As-Saraih junction. The report is partially correct, as that area was captured a few days ago; however, the location is near Al-Nabiq and not south of Shatin, as the reports suggest, since for that to be the case, the capital of Al Madaribah would have had to have been captured beforehand.

Sweet sound of desperation!
In any case, these are meaningless offerings, and the protesters know it, Macron's govt is on the way out even if these protests were not occurring right now.
BREAKING: France just offered sweeping education concessions to end weeks of student protests, and students say it’s not enough, per BBC
The government’s package:

Canceling planned teacher job cuts and adding 500 teaching jobs
Capping first-year high school classes at 28 students, starting with disadvantaged schools in 2027
Up to €4 billion ($4.5 billion) in low-interest loans to renovate schools through 2030, plus €1 billion for universities
15,000 new university places across 2027 and 2028
Raising student grants and tying them to inflation from 2027
Overhauling the Parcoursup university admissions system in 2027, then replacing it entirely in 2028
Student leaders vowed to keep protesting.
It seems that Jordan may be lying on the cooperation that led to the airstrikes as was announced by the Jordanian army, Syria denies any cooperation took place and demands answers on how Jordan determined where to bomb.
Following alleged airstrikes against Islamic State by Jordan, a diplomatic crisis has completely blown up between two states tonight. Jordanian airstrikes were heavy handed, likely killing many Syrian civilians even if jihadists were the target.
So… this is probably pretty bad.
It looks like Al-Shabaab hit a unit from Danab (the Somali National Army’s main “firefighting” brigade) pretty hard.
The Danab boys quite frankly know what they’re doing (SOCOM trained them up to the point where they’re roughly on par with an American light infantry brigade), and they’re also the best unit in the SNA. Losing up to 1/9th of their strength in a day is a pretty devastating hit…

@AnonymousLeftie Inasmuch as she subtly and not so subtly accelerated the trends that made Britain a state that could impose its will upon society or the wider "Commonwealth" / World System, yeah.
