Red Planet People is a crew of six academics dedicated to the future of human space exploration. First mission: 2 weeks at the Mars Desert Research Station!
JOIN US TODAY (July 15, 9pm EST) for the next episode of #RedPlanetLive as our host Ron Craig talks with members of Crew 245 about their recent Mars analog experience at the Mars Desert Research Station in #Utah. For details, visit: https://t.co/qWU9JR0Bdh. #stem#education#mdrs

Throwback Thursday to our first day at MDRS! We were able to walk on the surface of "Mars" without our spacesuits before the simulation began. Now, we only venture beyond the Station while fully protected by our EVA suits.
If you want to help us make our analog research as rigorous as possible on our mission, please chip in here! Donations go straight to research equipment and fees :) https://t.co/0kXXmVgdYl
Big News! Crew Engineer @_ShravanH has just been awarded a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship @NSFGRFP, which will fund his graduate research at MIT! He will be working with an instrument called MOXIE to research oxygen production on Mars.
We are excited for Shravan's upcoming NSF-funded research, and are looking forward getting to know first-hand just how important efficient use of resources is on another planet. Sustainability is essential for human space exploration, and for the success of our mission!
