Universal fear grips creation, including the “Watchers” — a central figure in 1 Enoch. These are angels (often linked to Genesis 6:1-4’s “sons of God”) who will later be depicted as rebellious fallen angels who corrupt humanity. Even they tremble, showing no one escapes divine scrutiny.
