Liverpool looking to sign Szoboszlai. Release clause valid until end of June less than €70million reported fee. Newcastle, Chelsea & Bayern also interested but Liverpool favourites with player keen to work with Klopp & Leipzig interested in Fabio Carvalho #LFC
@HenrySwanick@DesireJohnkzs Slot was there for 1 year and Klopp was there for almost a decade 😂 the point I am making is about who we were trying to bring in, obviously he was out the door before most of them materialised!
Slot was basically pushing every big personality out of the club and trying to sign only Dutch players by the end. Seemed to be out of desperation to gain control of the dressing room again. Odd situation to be in, club clearly needed to make the decision it did in the end #LFC
Believe the club may be moving away from interest in Adam Wharton and looking to other targets more suited to Iraola’s style of football. Anderson loved but City are ahead of the pack. Eyes on Fernandes, Scott and Ligue 1 usual suspects. Think 2 come in #LFC
@gzewu If that were the case why were we looking at signing Van De Ven, Dumfries etc when Slot was there and now not? Transfers are never one person’s responsibility but as head coach he had a lot of say as would always be the case
@SkovOliver Both Salah and Diaz will be replaced, I just doubt whether they will both cost 100mil. If it were me I’d be buying a third versatile forward that can cover for Ekitike while out and replace Chiesa but I just think there’s too much to do this summer that we will stop at 2
Liverpool are considering a double swoop for Dortmund duo Adeyemi and Schlotterbeck. Schlotterbeck’s unusual release clause and Adeyemi’s surprise omission from the Germany squad are seen as potential market opportunities #LFC
Adeyemi’s left footed and can play across the front four positions, as can Schade. Barcola is a similar proposition to Diomande but from the left rather than right. To reiterate I am talking about one marquee (I.e. Diomande/Barcola) and one versatile other (I.e. Schade/Adeyemi)
I don’t know how they’re going to play just saying don’t think we will be signing two wingers for 100mil. Would give a starting winger, then Rio, Gakpo and another winger all to cover two positions. Not counting Ekitike when back and Wirtz, Frimpong, Szoboszlai who can play wide
@pateltalha488 In this system I would be keeping Gomez to basically swap over with Frimpong on the right, Gomez, Virgil and Schlotterbeck at the back. Rio would then be the wide winger on the left if Diomande needs a rest. I’d like to see Elliott given the chance to deputise for Wirtz as well.
Coming back to this with Iraola. Gets best players in their best positions, swarm midfield and break away on the flanks and only requires 3 signings at worst. Should also give a great chance for progression to Rio, Bajcetic, Nyoni, Elliott and Leoni. With/without ball below #LFC
A big part of me wonders whether we will play an asymmetric system next season with either Kerkez or Frimpong high and wide, two midfielders, Szoboszlai playing as a wide playmaker, Wirtz in the middle and an elite one on one winger on the opposite side to the wing back…
If someone were to say you can select 3 signings only for Liverpool this summer and you have a clean slate to choose from who would you pick? Mine would be Elliott Anderson, Nico Schlotterbeck and Yan Diomande #LFC
With the way Iraola plays there’s a lot of focus on midfield energy. Personally I’d prefer we focus our efforts on the likes of Anderson, Fernandes, Camara etc but let’s see now #LFC
Not sure what to feel about the next manager but I think that’s partly the point - every player and fan could see what was coming next season with Slot. At least there is now a sense of excitement back in the club now. That’s the most important part for me #LFC
FWIW I would be going for Schlotterbeck. He may not solve the immediate issue with Virgil still in situ but he’s a long term solution. He also provides much needed cover on the left side which is currently one Virgil or Kerkez injury away from disaster #LFC
