Our School Council and Rights Respecting group met @KevanJonesMP and Councillor Scurfield on Friday to discuss road safety in the local area. Several suggestions were proposed and the children look forward to working with Durham County Council in the future.
Year 5 had a fantastic day yesterday. They were immersed into Anglo Saxon and Viking life through the fantastic @HistoricWksps. There was even a real battle in the hall!
What a fantastic Y6 Enterprise week it has been. The year 6 children have ran and managed their own stalls this week and worked exceptionally hard to create and design products to sell to the school. A great week by all and we can’t wait to see the total figure of profit made!
NASA have spent the afternoon looking at different types of forests in Geography, they then researched and presented information about a specific named forest from somewhere in the world.
We have had a fantastic day celebrating @Nat_Numeracy Day 2023! Across KS2, we have made budgets plans, solved crimes with numerical clues, held times table competitions, looked into savings and even created a rap!

Year 5 have had a great experience with the team from Nissan. They have built Lego cars, designed robots, taken part in coding some robots to move and discussed what it’s like to work at Nissan #brilliant

Year 6 had a fantastic visit this week to @NissanUK Sunderland. They completed different skill tests and even got to meet Woody the robot who was able to draw pictures! It was a great experience and allowed us to step into the shoes of the largest employer in the region.

Year 6 have been creating their own art work inspired by Henri Matisse and the art movement of fauvism. Sophie described fauvism as “using bright colours and simple drawings of objects to create unique and unusual colour combinations.”
