I'm overwhelmed by all the comments I'm recieving (all positive and/or insightful). I'm used to having 100 followers and no replies to my comments so I'm stepping out of twitter for today cause I realised I can't reply to you all and it frustrates me. But I'm reading you xx
@MikeIona These two comments have defined it pretty well. They mean well but end up bullying and cancelling people for not being extremely pure. A good example is what happened in the knitting world: https://t.co/jmUFzLlJ5G
For my new followers: I'm a UK based scientist, lefty butch lesbian and, til 2 years ago, I was a SJW and very pro-trans. I was so much in the cult that when I first realised I was having "terfy thoughts" I became suicidal. The big fuck you happened when a "friend" messaged 1/2
@Vincent96145501 No, a man complaining about a woman doing whatever the fuck she wants without looking for his approval. If you want want to be annoyed at her, do it. She clearly doesn't give a fuck, ang rightly so
@Concreteisland2@RedRumPunch Thoughts in my head (over time)
TWAW, ok. No harm no foul.
Considered lib fem.
Family experiences happen…
Oh you mean this *literally*?
Yeah, no. Don’t be daft!
(Shown proof of harm)
Reads and researches.
JKR said some things.
Totally peaked.
Considered rad fem terf bitch.
OK.
@Grymma@Concreteisland2 "oh you mean this *literally*?" Is a great quote. All the casual trans supporters don't really know that TRA literally believe transwomen are women AND female.
@thumbwitch @LaughlinSj "when you look at someone through rose-colored glasses, all the red flags just look like flags."
Once I peaked, everything had a different perspective. Cotton ceiling, trans in sports, autism-transition link, disproportionate rise of girls transitioning, gendered-souls...
@BlytheGetsCross @Kalesiwolf @blablafishcakes I always think Cognitive dissonance resolves in two ways: either the spell breaks and you see everything clear or you reject the reality and become more protective of your believes, a "more Catholic than the Pope" kind of thing. I believe some nasty TRAs are actually acting that+
@LaughlinSj LOT of time and shame to be deprogrammed from a cult. Sometimes it's easier to ignore or justificate the evidence, you don't want to think your whole believe system is wrong. Even a critical thinker can be part of a cult (I now consider wokism and TRA a cult)
@LaughlinSj treatment just like candy. Wanting to "shut up a terf" I researched puberty blockers to give her proper science facts and... Shit... She was right. The (very small) amount of research done proves the opposite or doesn't prove safety at all! Do "my people" know? Still, it takes A
@girls_women@_KylieJender unfortunately not as strong as so many women here. Coming out as a lesbian was way easier, I wasn't scared of losing my job like I am now! (And I'm a scientist, and my only sin is not believing in sex is a spectrum and knowing there are 2 sexes)
@girls_women@_KylieJender 10 years ago, my workplace being woke, my contacts being extremely woke...). I was basically a TRA until recently so my support group is pro-trans and I won't cut my friendship because of that reason but I suspect they will cut it if they find out what I believe. I'm
