@DanWetzel Maybe but there is no doubt in my mind that if Western Michigan was the team behind by five points and threw the Hail Mary they absolutely would not have had a second put back on the clock for a second chance. No way (National TV, game in Ann Arbor, & a top Big 10 team).
@ArtestJones A real shame that so many BC people are trashing this kid after ONE D1 game! He’s a playmaker and he’s tough. Not a great passing game but that will improve. Give the kid a break.
@remartin_34 Don’t care about lazy and selfish. My problem
Is I think the last 5 years of that contract will be a major burden as he gains weight & his offensive skills diminish . We shall see but glad the Sox don’t have that contract which would hamstring the GM.
@NJbcFan I would say give the kid a chance. I think he shows good potential. Tough to flush him down the toilet after one game. I would much rather have this QB that either of last year’s QBs. Given the kid a chance to play more than one D1 game before you cast him aside.
@AJBlack247 Too many mistakes by BC and refs/replay. QB has potential; he’s not a great passer but he’s a playmaker. Play calling could be more unpredictable to help QB & hopefully BOB sees that. Should be a better result vs Rutgers after they got smoked at home by UMass. If not - then ugh
@bcatleagle BC shows potential. Hurt by refs/replay in 1H and the 2nd and goal run it into the line play in 2H when the box was stacked that caused that drive to stall. But the QB, while not the best passer, is a playmaker and will get better. Look for a better result Friday.
@Jared_Carrabis Great. They can have the $200 million plus left on the contract because he will eat/age his way out of being a good hitter years before that contract runs its course.
@AJBlack247 He is great when there is no pressure as seen in the first drive last night and in some BC games last year. When he is under pressure his effectiveness plummets. He threw some terrible passes last night when the rush was starting to get to him. He is not an effective scrambler
@bcatleagle I was amazed at how much better UMass was than Rutgers on both sides of the ball. Final score didn’t reflect UMass dominance. Rutgers scored on a long 4th down TD pass when an obvious OPI wasn’t called. A UMass interception was negated on a phantom DPI. BC needs to beat Rutgers.
@Jared_Carrabis You ARE acting like that. Go back and listen to your podcasts. There have been better Red Sox teams that have blown much bigger playoff leads in September than the 2026 Red Sox. Take a look at the 1974 Red Sox that had a negative swing of about 15 games in Sept blowing a big lead
@CeceCalabrese@bostonbroadside Numbers are overwhelmingly against him. There were roughly 250,000 votes cast in the Republican primary for governor yesterday vs 880,000 votes in the Democratic primary for senator.
@tylermilliken_ They have to get to October first. There have been much bigger collapses in Red Sox history than if this team goes home at the end of the regular season.
@tylermilliken_ He wasn’t helping anyone when he was playing. You could see just by watching him batting in NY there was something wrong. Given that he shouldn’t have been playing. Who knows how long he was set back by playing instead of sitting.
@tylermilliken_ Terrible send. There was only one out and Arozarena was fielding the ball in shallow left field when Gasper (not a fast runner) was rounding third.
@AJBlack247 They opted for Boutte over Bond. Maybe a bad combination of small size and not very fast? Hope he gets a shot somewhere else. Maybe he gets ion the Texans practice squad but reality is they are allowing every other team to take him if they want.
@tylermilliken_ Hope he has a great September but my guess is if this was a year from now when his contract was ending they would DFA him. He will stay because they owe him $25 million next year.
