These juror interviews are extraordinary. They are admitting openly that they disregarded the law entirely for the sake of letting Clancy off the hook. There’s no other way to read it.
One juror says she originally wanted to vote guilty but changed her mind so that “Lindsay could get the help she needs.” That is a clear violation of the law. They were supposed to make a determination solely about guilt or innocence. They were not there to make sure anyone “gets help.”
Another juror says she voted not guilty because the prosecution never produced “character witnesses” proving Clancy was a “bad mother.” The problem is that A) killing your children IS definitive evidence that you’re a bad mother, and B) the prosecution would not have been allowed to call those kinds of witnesses. A witness solely testifying that Clancy was a bad mother would have been purely prejudicial. So this juror acquitted because the prosecution failed to provide evidence that they weren’t allowed to provide and which would have been irrelevant anyway. Extraordinary. This same juror even admitted that it was a “fact” that Clancy “viciously killed her children.” The word vicious literally means “done maliciously and with intent.” So if that’s a fact then they were obligated to vote guilty. But they didn’t.
Meanwhile another juror swooned over the defense attorney’s “entertaining” demeanor. And another one said that all of the facts of the case — “everything,” her words — “proved” that Clancy “loved her children.” Apparently strangling your children to death, in this juror’s mind, does not at all call your love for them into question.
Just a collection of the most morally obtuse idiots ever assembled. Amazing.
This is why Charlie’s murder is hitting people so hard. (I’ve heard many people say, “I’ve never felt like this when someone has died that I didn’t personally know.”)
1. The good vs evil spiritual war just undeniably spilled over into real life. This isn’t a theory; it’s high-stakes reality.
2. Charlie was killed for beliefs that every Bible-believing Christian holds. It could have been any of us.
3. Charlie was uniquely gifted and anointed. This is like losing one of the captains of your team. You knew you could win with him on the field. Now what?
4. His murder was gruesome and public. This is degrading for someone who is an image bearer of God and widely loved. Death is humiliating for humans.
5. Evildoers are delighting in evil. Progressive leftists and their demons are celebrating. This is offensive and wicked.
6. We sympathize with his family. Young kids will grow up hearing about their dad, but will not enjoy knowing him personally. This is tragically heartbreaking.
7. You feel like you knew him because you did in many ways. Many have listened to him talk for countless hours and have been impacted by his work and life. You will miss him.
8. He represents the American dream. A self-made guy built something big at a young age, with little resources…and it changed the world. That should be celebrated, not hated.
9. He was young, healthy, and strong, and his life was still cut short. This reminds us that our lives are fragile. We’re not promised tomorrow.
You are allowed to mourn Charlie’s death even if you didn't personally know him; it’s justifiable that you’d feel righteous anger. We all lost a great American patriot and a brother in Christ. This grief should be felt, and the anger should be harnessed into resolve. First we weep, then we heal, then we fight, and then we win.
@bubbajeffysuga@EnesFreedom@WNBA This “women only” organization had to hold a meeting to discuss what a woman is and didn’t come to any conclusions! Therefore, your argument, and insult, is null and void.
O Hillary!’”. Lo dejó sin palabras.
Jesus fed 5,000 men plus women and children in Mark 6 by supernaturally multiplying 5 loaves and 2 fish. But the miracle would never have happened if that little boy in the crowd refused to hand over his lunch by faith.
As a Christian, you have to surrender every part of your life to Jesus so that he can truly bless it.
- You relationships.
- Your career.
- Your stuff.
- Your money.
- Your dreams.
- Your time.
- Your talents.
Once you give these things to the Lord, you’ll see Him do what only He can do in you, for you, and through you.
The World Cup ends today. One game left. By tomorrow most of you visitors will be packing up, heading to the airport, going home.
So before you go, let me say the thing I actually want to say.
A few weeks ago I wrote a silly post about all the things you were discovering here. Free refills. Free water. Ice like civilized people. Chips and salsa before you even order. Air conditioning that is a fact and not a moral debate. Drive-throughs. Ranch by the gallon. The Germans standing in the HEB meat aisle in reverent silence, finally understanding why we do not have trains. Buc-ee’s, for which there are still no words.
It blew up, because it was true, and because you were so delightfully stunned by all of it.
Even the Wall Street Journal caught on. Their headline this week: how the US lost the World Cup and won over the world. We did not lift the trophy. But apparently we lifted something else.
We even learned a few things about ourselves along the way. Like the fact that Elon Musk, the single richest man on the planet, shops at HEB. Just rolls in and queues up for fresh tortillas with everybody else. The man could buy the tortilla company, the state it is in, and the moon it sits under, and instead he is standing in line at the hot-tortilla counter like the rest of us, because that is where the good ones are. Only in America is the wealthiest human alive elbow to elbow with a mom of four at the salsa bar. That is the whole country in one aisle.
And here is the part I want every one of you to hear on your way out the door.
None of it was a show.
We did not roll all this out because you were coming. The ice was always there. The refills were always free. The grocery stores were always the size of aircraft hangars at ten on a Tuesday. The stranger who adopted your whole section, the guy who gave you a ride, the waitress who remembered your order, the family that invited you to the cookout, that is not World Cup America. That is just America. That is Tuesday.
We are exactly like this when nobody is visiting. Loud, generous, ridiculous, overfed, and genuinely thrilled you came. We will still be exactly like this tomorrow when the stands are empty and the flags come down.
So thank you. To everyone who came, who sang in our streets, who cleaned our stadiums, who turned our cities orange and filled our bars and taught us your chants. You were wonderful guests, and you made a country that just turned 250 feel young and seen and loved.
And to everyone who could not make it this time, the door does not close today. We meant all of it. Come whenever. The porch light stays on, the fridge stays full, and there is always room for one more at the table.
You found out who we are these last few weeks.
Good news. We are like this all the time.
Safe travels home.
Y’all come back now, you hear. 🦋
A pastor is responsible to teach his congregation to love the following:
1. Jesus
2. Their own families
3. Their own local church
4. Their own nation
5. The poor, strangers, and enemies
The order of priority for numbers 3 and 4 is debatable, but the rest is not. We are not infinite. We cannot love everyone equally, in the same way, at the same time. Love must be rightly ordered.
Augustine gave classic expression to this concept in what is often called “ordo amoris” — the order of love.
“Progressive Christians” may agree that we should love Jesus first, (though often not to the exclusion of the false gods of other religions).
Then they would tell you to love the poor, strangers, and enemies second — even to the detriment of your own family (because they usually care more about virtue signaling than actual justice).
Then they would tell you to resent your nation and feel ashamed of it.
And lastly, they would encourage you to leave the local church, deconstruct your faith, and hate “organized religion.”
The real problem is not merely that “Progressive Christianity” is not true Christianity. The deeper problem is how many genuine Christians are unknowingly influenced and deceived into adopting unbiblical progressive ideas today.
Common symptoms include:
1. Feeling awkward about calling other religions false
2. Feeling embarrassed by their own nation — obsessing over its handful of weaknesses while overlooking its mountains of greatness
3. Becoming confused about cultural issues like immigration, welfare, and socialism
4. Failing to grasp the importance of local church community, service, and accountability
A good pastor will teach his congregation how to love practically, faithfully, and in the right order.
Fair warning: doing this will get a pastor labeled “legalistic,” “arrogant,” “political,” “Christian nationalist,” “mean,” “racist,” and every other scare-label meant to intimidate one away from being faithful.
That’s okay.
Do it anyway.

@Sadie_NC Whenever Whitney Houston is a contestant in a who sang it best situation, she wins always and forever. But definitely Dolly over the other 2.
@matt_vanswol Thank God for the time you had with them and move on. People are only in your life for a reason, a season, or a lifetime. And just know that we’re never the one that did the cutting out, it’s always them.
