Are you leading a locally-led organization in East Africa and looking to strengthen your organization's systems, strategies, and long-term sustainability?

@Mama_Hope is officially accepting applications for the 2027 Localization Development Accelerator (LDA). Our 9-month accelerator brings together locally-led organizations across East Africa to strengthen their organizational foundations through practical learning, mentorship, peer exchange, and systems development.

We welcome applications from locally-led organizations based in Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, and Rwanda, with annual operating budgets below US$100,000, strong community relationships, and the ability to commit 2–4 hours per week over nine months.

💬 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄𝘀 (𝗝𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟳): Shortlisted organizations will be contacted via email and invited to participate in interviews.

Note: Participation in the LDA program is free for organizations that qualify. We recognize the time and thought that goes into every application. Organizations that don't qualify will receive an email, but due to the high volume of applications we receive, we may not be able to provide individualized feedback to organizations that are not selected.

The High Court has told the Attorney General that Okiya Omtatah is raising a very important matter on Odious debts that cannot be dismissed using funny applications. Okiya is seeking a court declaration that Kenyans have fully paid their debts and what they are currently servicing are odious debts they never incurred. The matter proceeds to full hearing.

The overview;

Our latest senatorial poll shows that if elections were held today, Ken Babu would lead with 32.5% of voter support. Phelix Oduor(Jalang’o) comes second with 20.5%, followed closely by Beatrice Waithera at 18.9%, meaning the top three candidates together account for about 72% of voter preference.

The remaining candidates register lower support: Faith Odhiambo (6.8%), Cecil Miller (3.8%), Reuben Ndolo and William Karuga (2.3% each), and Mike Sonko (0.8%).

A notable 12.1% of respondents remain undecided, a bloc large enough to influence the outcome should it swing decisively toward any one candidate.

While Babu holds a clear advantage, the margin of just 1.6 percentage points between Odiwuor and Waithera shows that the contest for second place remains open.

These findings reflect voter sentiment at the time of the survey and should not be read as a prediction of the final result.
