Out of hiding, I again return
Some thought I was gone, bring back the urn

Return to play, such a wonderful sound
Flood the rink, skate round and round

COVID cup, a sweet quarantine relief
Oh and a chance, Lafreniere, a Leaf

[RedWings Poet @RedWingsPoet]

Ages have passed, and I am still bored
Sometimes I think, and look at my sword

I must be strong, and trudge on
Soon enough, the pause will be gone

I hope you are safe, and all is well
The puck drop again, and tickets to sell

I miss everyone
Hockey is fun

[RedWings Poet @RedWingsPoet]

Submission accepted, and shall enjoy
For if I was to hire, you, I would employ

In times like these, to sing a ditty
For the arts, I take no pity

Hockey return, soon, might, maybe
Up to you, for a December baby

[I'm Thor (he/him) @KingTor]

A humble submission to @RedWingsPoet:

There ain't no new hockey to watch
No ice on which to skate
Guess we'll all drink scotch
And convince our wives to mate

[RedWings Poet @RedWingsPoet]

Oh what a game, didn't think it was true
Back and forth, I, more nervous than you

The team is bad, and sometimes very frightening
But.......

The 2019-2020 Detroit Red Wings have beaten the Tampa Bay Lightning

A tribute to AA:

Your time here, like your skating, was so fast
What could have been, if only it could last

We wish you well, and hope they keep up with you
There is none that will ever be quite like Athanasiou

Score a goal, don't be mean
Gone like that, hardly seen

Ode to Mike Green:

Oh dear Mike, you played your best
It would have been nice to see the rest

When on our blue line
You played just fine

When you visit Detroit, say what's up
Now pass to McDavid, and win a darn cup

Probably the happiest, this season I've been
A 4th victory, verses the team of Canadien

1st overall, is still up for grabs
But zero losses, against the Habs

Just so you know, I love you all
Never lost a game, against Montreal

[RedWings Poet @RedWingsPoet]

@WwpThe @SBNation Oh the honor to have you here
I will love you always, both far and near
Sometimes I, don't know what to say
But I know for sure, you made my day

[RedWings Poet @RedWingsPoet]

Roses are red
Pain with this plan
Things are tough
But STEVE YZERMAN

#LGRW

[SB Nation @SBNation]

Roses are red
Violets are blue
Quote this with a sports poem
And we might retweet you

[RedWings Poet @RedWingsPoet]

Tonight's game is at the Prudential
For the lottery, a loss is essential

Devils play, somehow they lose
Even though they have Jack Hughes

Taylor Hall, a man sent west
Pretty sure, neither team is the best

Sunday afternoon, barely awake
Some might look, for a hot take

Today the Bruins we face at home
Around the ice, Larkin will roam

The weather outside, isn't too great
But the hockey is on, so who can hate?

Last night a win
How long it's been

I can't remember the last time
I was happy to rhyme

Skills competition, got it done
HOLY BLEEP!!!!!! We actually won

#LGRW #RedWings

[RedWings Poet @RedWingsPoet]

Well I don't know just what to say
I tell you its been quite a day

Goals were scored, but not by us
I'm beginning to not even fuss

If we could score, it would be real nifty
Holy crap, our points wont even sniff fifty

Back from absence, have made a return
All-star weekend, awards some earn
Look at the standings, oh so bleak
We only have gone on one kind of streak
Vacation away is much desired
For which this team, makes me so tired
Oh #RedWings I love you so
But I really need a week, in Mexico

[RedWings Poet @RedWingsPoet]

A night against the Canadiens
Would you believe we won again

Beat a team, we no longer friend
Twas a battle, 'til the end

Game was hard, and soon it was done
Throughout the battle, we had such fun

Oh Montreal, I'd hate to be ya
CUZ WE GOT FREAKING FILIP ZADINA!!!!!

#LGRW

A win tonight
Oh what a sight

Bernier was fantastic
No loss would be drastic

2019 comes to an end
For all of you, are a friend

Wish you love, for the new year
Go into it with strength, not fear

This will happen, all being good
Hug each one of you, for which I should

Been a while, since I last spoke
For the family, did not want to provoke

Returning back from holiday break
I want a win for goodness sake

At least one win, here or there
Will not hurt odds for Lafreniere

For some joy, I would not miss
Hope you all, had a Merry Christmas

#LGRW

[RedWings Poet @RedWingsPoet]

Been a few nights
Since we've felt frights

Been good return
Out from the urn

Fun again, never thought I'd say
We take on royalty, in Detroit today
